Slade Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 The fanbase is ever evolving. 10 years ago the overwhelming majority would support going with your gut and using all the outdated managing practices...but today, more and more people seem to be supporting the math behind the decisions more and more. I just don't think it's true. Guys like us who have found our way to learn about analytics are still few and far between. The general fanbase is still regurgitating whatever the trash commenters are saying.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 The Mets are in the stone age. Their pitching coach is literally 82 years old and is an improvement over his predecessor! They have like four aces who all throw their worst pitches the most (except deGrom). Look at their catcher lol. If you sign Wheeler, you're getting an ace. #RoboUmps

I blame both the ump and the catcher. Yes, the ump should be better...much better. But that f***ing catcher is a wizard at reverse framing.

I'm not so sure about that if he signs in Toronto...
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 Fernando Tatis Jr "most likely" done for the season, feel bad for the kid.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2019 Posted August 17, 2019 Lol, so Haniger has started rehab games with the Modesto Nuts. You have to think someone was laughing when they assigned him there.

AintNoThang Verified Member Posted August 17, 2019 Posted August 17, 2019 Kolten Wong is extremely underrated.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2019 Posted August 17, 2019 Lol Gardner. I tend to think that umps need thicker skin, but having someone act like that SHOULD get them thrown out.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2019 Posted August 17, 2019 I hope they ban that. Its extremely annoying. He deserves to be thrown out for being a spas
DigitalRock Old-Timey Member Posted August 17, 2019 Posted August 17, 2019 Gardiner would be Fun guy on Acid I bet.

Nofunatall Verified Member Posted August 17, 2019 Posted August 17, 2019 Bad news for Sale. Could be the end of the year for him. A little too soon for that extension? https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2019/08/red-sox-place-chris-sale-on-10-day-il-with-elbow-inflammation.html
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Apparently a save situation wasn't enough for Hader. He decided to make things interesting, giving up the tying run, loading the bases with no one out, and then striking out the side. Just because.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Is Ryan Yarbrough an ace? Pitching great at the moment
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Is Ryan Yarbrough an ace? This feels a lot like Phil Hughes’ big breakout season, but I hope he finds a way to keep it up.
5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Man, I can't believe the Angels continue to roll out Pujols in the lineup every day. The guy's atrocious and he's always batting 5th or 6th in the lineup so he's always ruining any momentum that club might be having offensively. If one looks at his numbers, it's clear he's a bum, but I guess because he's a "big name" they feel the need to keep on rolling him out there. So dumb.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Look at this f***ing strike zone.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Look at this f***ing strike zone. I mean, f*** that kid for that batting stance. And I'm pretty sure just because he's standing like that it doesn't automatically make the strike zone disappear so whoever told him to do that is an idiot.

And I'm pretty sure just because he's standing like that it doesn't automatically make the strike zone disappear so whoever told him to do that is an idiot. It technically might, but the umpire can basically use his discretion. The kid is bouncing up and down and all over the place, so he could really make it just about anything he wanted to. If I'm the pitcher though, and the ump does call them balls, the next pitch is going to be my best fastball located a little right of the plate. If you're going to walk with that nonsense, you're going to earn it.

How can they throw him out for that!” Even though he’s CLEARLY doing it to mock the Umpires. Yankees fans are clueless
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Tampa pitching today: 13IP 0ER 3H 0BB 24K That's insane, lol.
