glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2019 Posted June 26, 2019 So in a 3 day span last year, Mozeliak traded Voit, Pham and Mercado and got back basically Giovanny Gallegos? Whew, more trades with the Cards please. Hell, in the two (?) trades Atkins made with them, he got Diaz for Woodman and Grichuk for Greene/Leone. Apparently could have gotten Flaherty for one year of JD too which in hindsight would have looked good. I'm down with trading with the Cards again, though their system isn't as deep as it used to be.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2019 Posted June 26, 2019 I had no idea Richmond was (sort of) pitching again.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2019 Posted June 26, 2019 shouldn't the Nationals be on that list somewhere?
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2019 Author Posted June 26, 2019 shouldn't the Nationals be on that list somewhere? I assume that the 9 teams not on the list have more than Scherzer.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted June 26, 2019 Posted June 26, 2019 oh yeah, I guess that makes sense. I sort of read it as he was at the top, but that makes more sense.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 26, 2019 Posted June 26, 2019 I had no idea Richmond was (sort of) pitching again. China for 2 years, then Australia and now with the Quebec Capitales (although he hasn't pitched yet this year).

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 Russ Martin just carved the D-Backs. Pop up, strikeout, Pop up. His 2nd 1,2,3 inning this year. He was hitting 90 on the gun.

Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2019 Author Posted June 27, 2019 There’s a big AL wildcard 4 game series starting tonight between the A’s and Angels. Was checking out the A’s and old friend Liam Hendriks has been lights out so far this year.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 FanGraphs has added service time and MiLB options to their player profile pages. Thank god. The less time spent on having to go to Cot's the better. Hopefully they tighten up the contracts and add team payrolls next.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 A few random thoughts (following some time sifting through Fangraphs) 1. Blake Snell is the new poster boy for advance analytics. 2. The Willians Astudillo hype died quick. 3. Ted Williams was incredible (I mean I always knew he was...but good lord sometimes you forget until you examine those numbers again). Anyone else do that? Just sift through player page after player page on Fangraphs? Probably my favourite way to escape reality (without a bottle of Jergans)
glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 I usually go to Baseball Reference as they have service time, expected first year of arb, and expected free agency year. But yeah it would be nice for everything to be in one place.

Just yesterday I was looking at Eddie Collins' page and thinking he has to be the most underrated player of all time. It seems to me that you hardly hear a word about him. https://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=1002451&position=2B

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2019 Posted June 28, 2019 I didn't see it posted, but Mike Trout has surpassed 70 career fWAR, and he'll likely surpass 70 bWAR in about two weeks. He doesn't turn 28 until August.
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2019 Author Posted June 28, 2019 I assume it’ll be Giles who is our All Star this year. If he and Stroman are traded though, er Sogard I guess?
