Maddon cracks me up...

"Honestly, anybody would be excited to get a guy of his ilk in their bullpen, there's no question about it," Maddon said. "Quite frankly, pragmatically, I'm just dealing with what we have right now. It was so fun last night to be able to put Cishek in the eighth inning with a free-and-clear conscience, knowing that Stropy was there and so was Kintzler and so was Brach, et cetera, et cetera. And Carl pitching better. The whole group. When you're able to lengthen a bullpen, man, with the really quality guys at the end, you can shorten a game. There's no question. You can shorten a game."

Freddy Peralta making his first start in a while:

6 IP, 9 K, 0 BB. 18 swinging strikes on 80 fastballs, only threw 11 non-fastball pitches.

He's very erratic at times but the kid is so good when he's on.

I didn't realize how good of a month Juan Soto had in May: .380/.451/.676

Back up to 145 wRC+ for the season. He's so good.

It’s insane that he was immediately a 145 wRC+ at 19/20 with almost no minor league reps. He has a chance to put up special numbers in his prime.

He on earth can he be so awful defensively?

Have you seen some of our outfielders this season? It's totally possible to be that bad.

RIP BBBB, see you in a week.

I actually think he's pretty funny

Agreed. One can either read or disregard his insanity mixed with cleverness. Should be an individual choice.

Why are these guys so loyal to Boras, take Kimbrel. He was talking so much s*** about not coming down from his $100M price tag, and now he settled for $42/3. Thats substantially less.I understand there was a draft pick attached, but Boras gets an easy pass from these guys.

Boras is obviously a major blight on MLB and the MLBPA. The sooner he were to fade in to obscurity the better. Kimbrel ended up with what he was worth (3/$42M). That he held out 3 months to eek out more (yet failed) is totally on that piece of crap agent.

The players are obviously on board with this strategy. If they wanted a deal like this in the offseason then they would have instructed Boras to do so, but they took a risk and it didn't work out.

I think they continue to put too much faith in that douchebag instead of thinking for themselves

I am confused, so you think players should just not have agents and do things themselves? I am sure that isn't the point you're trying to make. Not putting words in your mouth, but please elaborate this point.

Boras is notorious for reaching for too much for his 'clients'. The clients should know better than to hold out for dear life based on whatever ******** this clown is blowing up their ass. Just wait and see what kind of fiasco Sanchez will end up in with this guy as his agent.

Bottom line : when the end of March comes and they still haven't taken the best offer, something is wrong. I defy you to show me a case where they held out beyond Mar 31st and ended up better off financially

Troy Tulowitzki (calf), who is at home, is debating what to do next. AB said Tulo is weighing everything, from where things stand with the team & himself, with his family & agent. Tulo, 34, came back from 1.5 years away with injuries to play 5 games for the Yankees this season.

Man, we complain about the strike zone we get sometimes. You should see the pitches Price is being gifted in the first. They aren't even remotely close to the strike zone.
