Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 How do the Yankees keep winning Definitely a testament to the depth they've built
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 As of this morning: 1. TBR 2. NYY 3. BOS 4. TOR 5. BAL Looks about right actually. I can see that holding up. I can also see the Yankees and Rays flipped a few times and ending up with either as division winner and the other as a WC

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 The Rays are not a better team than the Yankees. I picked Yankees to win the division before the season started. I now think they may be closer than most of us realized
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 There are still 3 really good teams in the AL East. Rays project for 91 wins right now. They are not as good as a healthy Yankees but there is zero chance that all those Yankees come back and are reaching their projections.
King Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 Seattle needs to stop giving starts to Felix ASAP. At least he's limiting the walks this year. I guess.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 King Felix is terrible. Given a 4 run lead and can't get through 3. I know he hasn't been walking many but he's so hittable now. He was lucky to not give up a 3 run shot to Chavis, and last inning he got away with so many misses. On a side note I'm disappointed that in Fantasy I never got any pieces of Devers while everyone was down on him.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2019 Posted May 11, 2019 Bumgarner's no-trade list includes the Atlanta Braves, Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Houston Astros, Milwaukee Brewers, New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies, and St. Louis Cardinals, according to The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal. The four-time All-Star apparently chose this group of contending teams strategically, and they are not teams he wants to avoid playing for, Rosenthal added. By doing this, Bumgarner would need to approve a trade to one of these clubs, thus giving him leverage as to where he could land if a deal were made. Trade him to a s*** team

Yeah man, it's over for the king. Too bad sorta, but it happens to everyone eventually. Kid just has too much mileage on that arm.

5ToolPhenom Verified Member Posted May 12, 2019 Posted May 12, 2019 Been watching a handful of Reds games by happenstance lately. Joey Votto doesn't look right to me. I'm not sure if he's nursing an injury or if age has just caught up with him. His numbers have been pretty brutal for the season so far.

Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2019 Author Posted May 12, 2019 Ohtani slowly getting back into the swing of things with a slow start but a couple of hits last night. Hopefully he’ll be properly back soon once he’s got a few more games under his belt.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2019 Posted May 12, 2019 The Pirates are 19-17 and have a -39 run differential. Conversely, their division rival, the Reds, have a 18-22 record with a +31 run differential.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted May 12, 2019 Posted May 12, 2019 Nothing like seeing a pitcher in a game with the name G. Canning
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 12, 2019 Posted May 12, 2019 Ryu no no through 7. At 100 pitches though
EastCoaster Verified Member Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 Since they traded Dwight Smith Jr and became a regular he has more production than any of the Jays players on their roster. He would lead this team in BA, HR's and RBi's and played some solid defense at times with some spectacular plays looks like the Blue Jays might of screwed up on this guy. The real sad part is they let him go for nothing future considerations sometime one has to really wonder what the front office was thinking about.

Tbf they needed to create a roster spot and had a surplus of outfield prospects on the 40 man. The choice to DFA was Alford (too much upside), Pompey (injured and then moved to the 60 day IL so not taking up a spot), McKinney (only recently acquired) Davis, or Smith Jr. So the question you should be asking yourself if do you think Smith Jr or Davis is the better player. Toss a coin IMO. Note that Davis has more options left too.

Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted May 13, 2019 Author Posted May 13, 2019 Still don’t really get the A’s trading for Morales. He’s even being playing mainly 1B (badly) for them. They did us a favour though!
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 If anyone has been on the fence about a sub, now might be the time to pay for The Athletic. They're running a 60% off deal to celebrate the Raptors' win. The offer ends tonight. They run promos often, but they don't offer 60% off very often.
