To toronto Edwin Diaz, Patrick Kivlehan, Austin Jackson, Fernando Rodney, Danny Hultzen one of miller or Taylor and Marte

And one of tyler o'niel or Garett Morgan

 

 

Meaning they add 10-13 mill to thier payroll and we save the same!

 

Again Seattle Trade is our best bet, they need support for that Robinson Cano bat and contract win now !

 

Tulo, EE, Dickey and catcher to Seattle, add in a PTBNL and either 6-12 mill up front or 4-5 mill for the duration of the Tulo deal.

Jays should be claiming Jesse Biddle (DFA'd to make room for Austin Riley today). He's been okay since Atlanta moved him to the pen. Out of options but just 27 and being paid league minimum. Absolutely, Biddle would be an excellent claim. if he can somehow find some consistency with his fastball, he could be completely lights out.

This season has been disastrous almost to the point of hilarity. Our two best position players are Eric Sogard and Freddy Galvis, and literally every young hitter we thought had a chance to be a guy has fallen completely on their face:

 

Drury - replacement level

Tellez - replacement level

Jansen - sub replacement level

Hernandez - sub replacement level and demoted to AAA

Gurriel - sub replacement level and demoted to AAA

McKinney - sub replacement level

Alford - getting dominated at AAA

 

Those 7 guys have combined for - (negative!) 1.2 fWAR. They have a combined wRC+ of 61 over 686 PA. This team is absolutely awful.

Yep. I just posted similar thoughts in the CBS grade thread. Throw in Vlad Jr. off to a slow start and Bichette breaking his hand and there is almost nothing positive happening.

 

I think the most exciting developments have been that Thornton might be proving that he can stick as a #5 starter and that Cavan Biggio might be proving that he can be a 2 WAR player in the bigs. Yippee.
