THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Stop it omfg, why do you guys always overreact everyone to small sample sizes and red flags. I’m surprised that Tellez is walking this little though. Literally not one person in this thread has overreacted or shown any amount of emotion toward Tellez until your post above. Why must you always create these false narratives to suit your need to be a condescending and joyless ****? It's obnoxious and unnecessary. This. WTF are you on about Tercet? People may expect a Billy Butler ceiling out of him, but anything less is expected. Anything more is gravy TBH.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 He has good walk rates in the minors, so not too concerned about that. Obviously no one expects a 190 wRC+ from him next year with inflated babip, but average to slightly above average in his first full season would be a great result (which is roughly what he's projected at). That's probably a replacement level player.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 That's probably a replacement level player. Probably yeah. He needs to rake to make up for his even poor defense at 1b. He'd likely need to be in 135 wrc+ territory to be even mlb average overall. I don't see that in Tellez

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Pat Tabler just said he thinks Blake Snell is the favourite to win the Cy Young. Pitcher winzzzzzz
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Pat Tabler just said he thinks Blake Snell is the favourite to win the Cy Young. Pitcher winzzzzzz It should probably go to Verlander, but I wouldn't rage at Snell winning it either. You could probably pick from half a dozen guys and it not be egregious.

You could probably pick from half a dozen guys and it not be egregious. It'd be pretty clear to me that if he wins it's largely due to his W-L record and ERA. Snell has been very good, but doesn't have enough innings and his per inning performance hasn't been as elite as other candidates like Bauer, Sale, Carrasco.
Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 When's the day we don't have to watch Pillar anymore? Just curious.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 That's a pretty impressive lump Sucre has going there.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 That's a pretty impressive lump Sucre has going there. It's too bad he didn't get a good pitch in that AB just now, was curious if he'd even be able to swing the bat.
bzapple Verified Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Buck calling Hawk Harrelson "one of the best" might be the most egregious thing he's ever said.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 He is 21-5 with a 1.90 ERA.... Okay? He's been excellent, but he hasn't been the best pitcher in the American League. The fact that he's 21-5 should have zero bearing on his candidacy for the Cy Young. Would you take Blake Snell over deGrom?

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 DeGrom is in the NL. Thanks I wasn't aware. You missed the point.

Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 I'll tell you what guys This Borucki is a great mid rotation peice. 3.50 FIP in almost a hundred innings now, this is a 3 Win a year pitcher I think he is our best pitcher. I know I am going against the SRF grain. However, I think he is going to be or has potential to be a 1or 2 in the future. If we had to go to war with the pitchers we have now, including Sanchez and Stroman, I would make Borucki # 1.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 If Borucki is our number 1 going into next season then something has gone horribly wrong. I like Borucki very much, but he's not an ace. Not close.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 Thanks I wasn't aware. You missed the point. Don't think I did. Your implication was that deGrom is a superior pitcher to Snell. There is the very real possibility that it's true while also enabling Snell to be the best pitcher in the AL. You could have invoked Sale, Kluber or Bauer so maybe do that in the future. Thanks.

Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 Jesus...... This is not just to John but all you turds. Which pitcher on the Jays staff has been consistently better this year. Seriously, some of you guys are *******s.. I notice all you Dicks can do is put a one word sarcastic response, because you cant substantiate an fnnm argument. Tell me which pitcher in our current rotation has consistently pitched better?? And then suck my cock and say sorry.,

Stroman / Sanchez have the upside potential to be #2's MAYBE if they get the injury issues sorted out, Borucki could be a #3 if things break right.

When you're ready to move beyond the 1950s, let me know and i'll bring out the flashcards for ya. And calling people turds, Dicks (capital D even) and telling them to suck your cock definitely gives you more credibility.

And calling people turds, Dicks (capital D even) and telling them to suck your cock definitely gives you more credibility. Use all the metrics you want. Which Blue Jays pitcher in the rotation or on the DL has been consistently better this year? Not one of you has disproven this. I have never discussed Borucki with you nor I recall any threads about this that I have seen. Credibility and the way a bunch of you act are two seperate and distinct issues. A bunch of you are fnnn posters on a Jays message board, not even proffesional baseball people or in the business in any form, yet you consistently talk down to posters and insult them for putting their opion. I have never insulted anyone or talked down to them for a baseball opion. I notice that when I look at the board there are sometime hundreds of people online. Yet there probably less then 20 frequent posters. I have a strong feeling it is a bunch of you act like Dicks and people dont want to post here. You act like a Dick, I will call call you a Dick. Post something supporting why I am f***ed up 5 ways to Sunday, I will call you John or say thank you. The arrogance some of you have that you are so high and mighty baseball gurus that you cant even bother to respond to position with nothing less then an arrogant and Dickish one word or sentance smart ass remark. So, again, who of the Blue Jays starters this year or on our roster have been consistently better then Borucki???? There are no fnnn stats 1950’s or 2025 that support that he has not. So again, if we had to go to war with what we have. I would put him in the #1 spot, where anyone would want their most consistently GOOD pitcher. From the Blue Jays page, posted tonight. Blue Jays to allow 3 hits or fewer in 4 straight starts. Ryan Borucki Roger Clemens Jose Guzman Marco Estrada The OP stated out of our pitchers we have or if we were miracously starting the playoffs today with what we have, I would want Borucki #1. As an aside, how old were some of you guys when the Blue Jays had a decade of winning teams and two World Series champions? Still sucking on momies titty? Playing spin the bottle? You are probably going to tell me Jack Morris and Juan Guzman sucked because Sabremetrics says so. 🙄
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
