Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2018 Posted September 15, 2018 These guys are making SRF look like Maddux on the mound. Throw f***ing strikes.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2018 Posted September 15, 2018 I fnnn knew it. The "Veteran" guys f***ing suck.. OK, all we are doing by using them is deflating the morale and good feelings of the work of the young guns.. We have expanded rosters and we throw out are trash this inning only to f*** it up.. I cant wait until the season is over only so Clippard is not on this team anymore. I hope we don't waste a 40 man spot for Barnes and I would dangle Terpera out there and dont lose some young stud to protect his ass.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2018 Posted September 15, 2018 Why is Clippard back out??
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2018 Posted September 15, 2018 Nice move bringing Giles in early to face Sanchez.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2018 Posted September 15, 2018 Ken Giles coming in hot from the BP. 99 to put Gary Sanchez away.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2018 Posted September 15, 2018 Ok, let's get some insurance and see if Giles can pull that of for another inning.. Uncharted territory..
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 15, 2018 Posted September 15, 2018 Ok, let's get some insurance and see if Giles can pull that of for another inning.. Uncharted territory.. The guy who hasn't blown a save opportunity since last season is in uncharted territory in a save situation?
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2018 Posted September 16, 2018 The guy who hasn't blown a save opportunity since last season is in uncharted territory in a save situation? Seriously Dude, what is the factor that is a difference in this case.. I know you are smarter than that..I even put a hint in my OP.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2018 Posted September 16, 2018 Watching Ken Giles is fun.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2018 Posted September 16, 2018 Nice to see Giles using his fastball more.
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2018 Posted September 16, 2018 99 MPH heater at the knees on the edge of the plate. Giles is nasty.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2018 Posted September 16, 2018 You're welcome Oakland. http://i.imgur.com/YW5cUOU.gif
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2018 Posted September 16, 2018 Nice to see Giles using his fastball more. I don't know if it's a confidence thing or whatever, but he's really been bringing the heat as of late, not just usage wise but it's a lot more 98-99 than 96-97 like in his first handful of appearances.

I know you are smarter than that..I even put a hint in my OP. You mean the Jays scoring three more runs and turning the ninth into a non save situation, or more than a three out save? Please explain..
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2018 Posted September 16, 2018 I don't know if it's a confidence thing or whatever, but he's really been bringing the heat as of late, not just usage wise but it's a lot more 98-99 than 96-97 like in his first handful of appearances. Maybe a confidence thing, but his fastball has been harder recently. He's also been locating his fastball well lately. I like this Giles, fastball primarily with a slider sprinkling.

Regardless, he has two elite pitches and when at least one is working he's nasty.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted September 16, 2018 Posted September 16, 2018 So why did Giles get sent to the minors...was it really just the problems he had with the team
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2018 Posted September 16, 2018 Like you know I don't really mind a 50/50 mix or 70/30 depending on which pitch is working on that night. Regardless, he has two elite pitches and when at least one is working he's nasty. He definitely has great stuff. I think the confidence thing is relevant, who knows what went on in Houston. Hopefully Pete Walker and the rest of the staff will have success clearing the fog and getting him in a simple minded set and work on hid fastball location. There's been an obvious improvement in all aspects lately.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2018 Posted September 16, 2018 You mean the Jays scoring three more runs and turning the ninth into a non save situation, or more than a three out save? Please explain.. Giles had not had a 2 inning save situation with us ever, I dont believe and had not pitched two innings in a while if I am correct. Some guys can do it, other guys s*** the bed. I didnt know and I doubt the majority of guys here knew how Giles is in that sitution. After I made the post, Schulman said he has done it 6 times in his career. I prefaced unchartered territory with lets see if he can do that for another inning. I didnt recall him pitching more than one inning for us. It would also appear the guy has a mental barrier or something when it is not a straight up save situation, so I for one didnt know how he was going to handle a two inning save.

mtljaysfan Verified Member Posted September 16, 2018 Posted September 16, 2018 What happened to Barnes? He's been s*** this year and he was pretty good last year. I know RPs are volatiles but still

I know RPs are volatiles but still Basically every peripheral of his is the worst if his career, coupled with the fact he can't seem to throw strikes.... and he does they're getting crushed.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2018 Posted September 16, 2018 This kid is baseball player.. No idea how he will do long term.. But presents well.. Looks like he belongs..
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2018 Posted September 16, 2018 Lead off walk and they cant even get him to 2b...
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted September 16, 2018 Posted September 16, 2018 The Chyron guy is just asleep today... Balls and strikes have been off both the numbers and in the zone... He's still got Travis at 1st base... I know this is just running out the clock for the Jays, but there's no excuse for that kind of sloppiness from the TV crew!
