Dean Blundell leaked that story... he used to be good on a morning show with CFNY The Edge, then he sucked Jay held the show for awhile, he caught a morning gig at 590 was fired from them again... and now holds his own on-line s***. I called it then BS... I hope he gets sued/fired again if it doesn't come up. I met him at an event many years back, seemed pretty cool. Ah well...

I assume it wasn’t as bad as the rumours and he didn’t actually punch her, otherwise MLB would surely not have taken the risk of his suspension ending before any court case.

 

If video leaks of him punching / attacking her he’s in trouble, otherwise it looks like he’s going to be OK.

I could still see him spending some time in prison with the whole #MeToo movement these days.

Laws are still laws, and unless they've been changed, he hasn't been charged with anything that (typically) comes with a jail sentence, unless his lawyer is completely incompetent.

Yeah, and a first offence "Simple Assault" charge typically doesn't result in a sentence that carries jail time. It's extremely unlikely that he will end up in jail from this.

No trial date has been set. Criminal court in Ontario is a very slow process unless an agreement is reached. If this goes to trial it likely isn't until sometime in early 2019.

I suspect these delays and lack of agreement so far are probably due to the defense dragging their feet to ensure it's the offseason this gets handled with the fewest eyes and ears on it as possible.

"Roberto Osuna has had his domestic assault charge withdrawn.

 

It was the result of an agreement between the prosecution and Osuna. He's agreed to a peace bond for one year in addition to not having any contact with the alleged victim during that time. Osuna was arrested back in early May for allegedly assaulting a woman and served a 75-game suspension from MLB before being traded to the Astros in July. He has been serving as Houston's primary closer in recent weeks."
