Why did Gibbons pinch hit for Diaz instead of Grichuk? It worked out with Grandy, but there was no chance in hell Grichuk was going to do anything other than swing aimlessly against Robertson.

Because Chapman was warming, but wasn't going to be ready in time, and probably would have been for Grichuk.

He got Grandy in before Chapman would be ready to come in and face him

Boone would have went to Chapman.

Yeah that was the last straw for me with Grichuk. Don't care if he has a hot streak in him, this guy is never going to improve his k%, and that's going to make him a s*** hitter long term.

Kindly replace him with Teoscar in RF and Morales at DH.

If he had waited, Chapman would have been ready. Chapman against Grandy isn't on the same planet as Robertson against Grandy.

I don't know, I would have taken my chances with Diaz against Robertson and then Chapman versus Grandy. Grichuk was going to strike out regardless. He has trouble with practically every pitch, but no chance he was going to make contact off Robertson's off speed stuff.

Grichuk is worse than useless....He’s actually hurting this team....How long before the so called brain trust realizes this!

Probably should have brought in Martin instead for Grichuk.

They traded a good reliever and a decent C prospect for him

He is going to get his run

Does Girchuck have options left?

Who cares....Get him off the team. He’s taking up a valuable roster spot...

It shouldn't matter with Alford and Pompey both healthy. I have little doubt Hernandez is the better option going forward.

Asset management is a thing, you don't trade a couple solid pieces for a guy and then pull the plug on him after a couple weeks.

That's very irrational to his question..

Yup. Then put Grandy in RF and Gift at short. Martin has a good eye, he may have layed off those breaking pitches in the dirt/low.

You do when he’s this bad....realize your mistake and call it a day.....

cut your losses, f*** grichuk. I'm mostly overreacting but seriously hes been awful

Nah that's the over emotional fan response, not the rational one. They had reason to covet Grichuk and aren't going to abandon that this quickly whether you agree or not.

Shapkins loves exit velocity. Some times it works, but some times you get Kendrys and Grichuk. I doubt they will give up on him so soon, but you can bet Gibby isn't going to play him over Teoscar who he loves.

We're you guys not around in 2010-2011 when Edwin looked like he could barely cut it at AAA. As Pendleton said, getting rid of high upside players at their low point is bad asset management. Especially with this small of a sample
