Toronto has won eight of 11 games after dropping the first two games of the season – a stark contrast to the team’s brutal 1-9 SU start a year ago. The Indians have won 12 of 18 meetings between the clubs over the last two seasons, including a 4-1 series triumph in the 2016 American League Championship Series.

Marcus Stroman and Mike Clevinger will get the start for the Jays and Tribe, respectively. Stroman (0-1, 8.33 ERA) didn’t fare well in his first road game of the season last Saturday, allowing five runs on six hits and five walks over 4.2 innings vs the Texas Rangers. The 26-year-old surrendered four runs over five innings against the New York Yankees in his first start of the year on April 1.

Clevinger (1-0, 0.71) didn’t factor into the decision in his last outing, a 3-1 Cleveland victory over Kansas City. The hurler gave up just one run on 10 hits and two walks over 7.1 innings of work, and the Florida native is 16-9 in his career.

The Tribe have been getting the job done behind Clevinger dating back to last season. Cleveland is 9-0 SU in its last nine with Clevinger on the mound.

If we can steal this one tonight have to feel we have a chance to win this series against Tomlin. Kluber is going to unmercifully dominate us tomorrow though. 12-15 K's easy. I hope we don't put both Grich and Teo in the lineup for that game. Actually I hope they do I own Kluber in my fantasy league.

Gibby aggressive slotting Teoscar in the 2-hole. I like it.

The way he does his lineups is funny sometimes. Teoscar isn't good enough to make the opening day roster but he comes up and bats 2nd. Pearce is mostly a bench/platoon player but when he plays Gibby bats him cleanup.

Going to be a tough series to win, going to need JaysAllMighty to put up a clutch GDT performance in this spot.

Yup, it's nicely done... John Havok's going to s*** himself, lol.

Leadoff actually! Gibby has been really good with his lineup construction, although I still think Smoak should be hitting 4th and not 3rd but oh well.

I would have liked to seen Solarte maybe lead off or maybe hit second because of how well he has done getting on base this season. But hopefully Teo is energised tonight and can give this lineup a spark. Most importantly we need Stroman to pitch well tonight because he was awful in Texas. That was the worst I have ever seen him pitch. He had no command whatsoever.

Still a pretty good lineup 1-9. There are 5 players who were not in last years opening day lineup.

Good job Ross Atkins.
