Meh. I don’t want every spot after Stroman being a massive question mark. I see value in being respectable as the kids start breaking in, and even someone like Happ would be a big help with that.

 

I would say Stroman and Sanchez are more of a question mark than Borucki based on the past two years. I have zero confidence them (Sanchez and Stroman) being consistent performers or not injured.

SRF isn't a lock he still has plenty of red flags, maybe Sanchez might even be non-tendered?

I hope Sanchez is tried as a full time pen arm. If he sucks, non-tender him after 2019.

Those numbers are mostly as a starter. Coming out of the bullpen he'll add a couple of mph to the fastball and if he can regain the cutter he'll be fine against LHH. If not the fallback is a ROOGY for a year

There is no chance that Sanchez gets non-tendered unless his arm literally falls off in the off season... He might get $4-6M or so in arb, and if you really didn't want him (for some reason) you could easily move that kinda potential on that salary for something of value.

It's really hard to say at this point. Bichette looks to have saved an otherwise weak 2016 draft. Zeuch is doing alright, but there were better picks to be made. Biggio has the potential to do some good in the majors. I'd give them a B at this point in time for 2016.

I was a bit bored so I was going over just how terrible the Blue Jays have been at drafting and developing position players.

 

Excluding Kevin Pillar, the best season by WAR for a homegrown position player who entered the system from 2005-2018 is Ryan Goins' 1.3 win season in 2015.

 

 

That's followed by:

Travis Snider with 1.2 WAR in 2010

JP Arencibia 1.2 WAR in 2012

Eric Thames 0.6 WAR in 2011

Danny Jansen 0.6 WAR in 2018

JPA had a 0.6 WAR season in 2011

Cheavez Young is looking good down in Lansing. Palacios was doing well in Dunedin before getting promoted.

 

Neither of those two are gonna be that good. But future role player isn't out of the question.

Wow, I hadn't been paying much attention to his name when checking the minor league boxscores. He's had a great season for Vancouver. Getting strikeouts, showing good control and getting groundballs. And he only turned 20 in June.
