At last:

Granderson deserves better, hopefully in the form of a trade, but it's the right thing to do. McKinney looks like a stud and we need to play him every day.

Even DFA then granting Granderson a release so he has at least a chance of someone picking him up. It really is pointless him taking away playing time from anyone here

Wins don't matter at this point really, so there's plenty of arguments to sit him if he's not getting any interest on the trade market. D'ing him FA would be a classy thing, but then you just give a guy with value away for nothing, may as well keep him and get those few extra weeks of vetrin presents and mentoring

Garcia dfa'd

Guess we aren't picking up his option

That signing did NOT work out well.

That signing was also loved by a lot of people here if I remember correctly.

It was a good signing. It just didn't work out.

Yeah it was a great signing, in part because if things went south, the downside was pretty negligible. Oh could have gone the same way. Win some you lose some but at least they hedged their bets.

Is Morales a bad signing that's working out well then?

I remember quite a few here liked the signing of Morales. I didn't like it but after reading comments/stats supporting it, I was okay with it.

I think most people’s issue was with the 3rd year on the contract, which limits roster flexibility more than anything.

My biggest issue with Morales was the fact that a lot of our older guys could benefit with some time @ DH, and having Morales there limited the ability to do that. I mean, all of our older guys were hurt this year anyway, so it didn't matter too much, but if Tulo and Donaldson were both still alive, would have been nice to have that spot to rotate them through.

Loved is a stretch, but a Garcia 1 year deal with a team option was most people’s preferred option to a 3+ commitment to someone like Cobb.

I agree, it clogged up a roving DH.

It did really after the 2nd year, pertaining to Deadpool's post. Mind you, the market changed drastically the year later, who knew, right?

The 3rd year of Morales is the only thing that bothered me about Morales contract. But I still think we could move that final year of that deal.

Thoughts on Diaz? Is he a long term option as our starting SS or is Gurriel and/or Bo just going to lap him.

Either way - very nice pickup by Shatkins

Any contact can be moved depending on what you're willing to eat.

Dunno, would anyone take Chris Davis right now, even if the entire contract was eaten?

A free DH? Sure. Give him a shot and see if he just needs a fresh start in 2019. If it doesn't work out release him with no financial obligations.

Don't need to take that shot in TO though, but yeah somewhere would for league min if that's what the O's did.

I'm pretty doubtful someone would. Someone would sign him to a minor league deal, but I can't see anyone rostering him on their big league roster unless they were going after the top pick.

Can you go look up his FG page and then post this again?

I am also technically a free DH.

So am I. But I have no history to show that I've ever been able to produce in any way.

Look, my point is that if Baltimore eats 100% of his salary, as per the scenario outlined, I think there are teams that would give him a look see. Is that look see for only 2-3 weeks? Maybe. But I'm sure there are teams that would see if there's anything left in his tank if they had to pay $0. It's a no lose situation for a team that doesn't plan on contending.
