Hes controllable through 2021. And would likely be part of a package. He wouldn't be shopped if there wasn't significant interest.

Josh Donaldson (calf) is expected to require a short minor league rehab assignment before returning to the Blue Jays' active roster.

 

Advice: It only makes sense now that the veteran third baseman has been sidelined for close to a month because of a lingering left calf injury. Donaldson was supposed to return to the Blue Jays' active roster in early June, but he still hasn't run the bases at full speed without issue as of June 19. There isn't a clear timetable for when he might be activated off the disabled list.

Someone else here said this awhile back but... i fully expect the Donaldson situation to turn out as horribly as possible for the Jays.

Until I see Donaldson back on the field and playing at a high level, I'm convinced he's here the rest of the year and will either accept the QO or leave for a comp pick.

 

If he comes back and hits, then there's a chance he can be moved at the deadline or in August/waivers.
