Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 I wonder what the roster move will be. I really hope its not Donaldson going on the DL.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 I wonder what the roster move will be. I really hope its not Donaldson going on the DL. Well we only had a 3 man bench so it could be a reliever.

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 Well we only had a 3 man bench so it could be a reliever. So Axford DFA'd or Mayza being sent back down. Mayza hasn't pitched in 2 weeks. Dude needs work in the worst way. I don't think they would option Gift with Donaldson so wonky. Maybe Grich is hurt who the f*** even knows lol. Will find out.
LGBJ29 Verified Member Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 Jim Bowden was wrong then and water is wet

Mayza has options and Barnes has an option as well. Or like you said maybe an OF is hurt and we don't know it.
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 I think it will be Mayza sent back down. The team should not be carrying 8 relievers.

LGBJ29 Verified Member Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 Teoscar can play third base right?
jerb Verified Member Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 Ben Nicholson-Smith Verified account @bnicholsonsmith Josh Donaldson update per #BlueJays Had imaging done to ensure no new injury to shoulder. Shoulder has no structural instability or new injuries, but throwing ability hasn’t improved as hoped. Donaldson will go through throwing program in Florida
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 I pray it's the minimum amount of time. In the meantime that leaves us with a starting infield of Smoak, Travis, Diaz and Solarte with Gift being the only backup. Yikes. Martin and even Pearce need to get their infield gloves out.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 Excellent chance Solarte and Pearce are our 3 and 4 hitters tonight. They were both on the bench opening day.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 Ben Nicholson-Smith Verified account @bnicholsonsmith Teoscar Hernandez here in Cleveland and taking early BP, so he'll be active on #BlueJays' roster today. Corresponding move TBD Uh oh. Over/under on Teoscar producing a golden sombrero for Kluber?
AledmysDiaz Verified Member Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 Why cant we just DH him if he can't throw. Its not like we have any other options. Why DL him.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 1. DFA Morales 2. DH Donaldson for the rest of the year 3. call up Vlady to play 3rd 4. win world series
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 Retroactive to the 11th so he can be activated in game 3 of our 4 game series at Yankees Stadium on the 21st. Have to believe he won't be out much longer than that. Giving his shoulder 10 days to heal than will come back to at least DH.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 Why cant we just DH him if he can't throw. Its not like we have any other options. Why DL him. Interesting question. It likely depends on how long they think it would take to build up the arm strength and fix his arm. If it's 15-20 days, then you go ahead and do it. If it's going to take 30-45 days then that's going to euchre the season and I'd love to see the Jays say f*** it - you're probably gone at the end of this year so you can DH from now on and work on your arm on the side. If you can get it back in shape, we'll play you at 3rd. But - I suspect JD's pending free agency plays a factor in the decision. I can't see JD wanting to DH for an extended period this year at all.

I guess you are right. If this team cant go six or seven games with JD, how good were they to begin with anyways.

Smokinitup420 Verified Member Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 I will probably get some backlash on this post but I kind of like it, Donaldson hasn't been right, hitting or defense, give him some time to get it back together n be the Donaldson we know and start mashing, I think the crew can manage if he's only gone for a bit, plus it'll be nice to see what Hernandez can do
AledmysDiaz Verified Member Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 What sucks is that both Twins and Angels are headed for 90+ Wins. Angels because they maybe better than we thought and Twins because three teams in the AL Central are basically Garbage. They are going to have 55 games against those teams. We could have a year where we win 86 games and finish five games out of the second wild card.

Broken bat blues Verified Member Posted April 14, 2018 Posted April 14, 2018 I would take goins any day before travis. Travis seems to be hurt all the time and overrated. Goins was solid whenever needed in 2017 and i got tired of hearing everyone saying he is not an averyday player. His numbers on offence say otherwise, and his defence is better than travis for sure, and you can stand him beside tulo at short too
