This year’s summer weekend trips suck for the Jays, for those that won’t go west coast. June is Detroit and LA Angels. July is solid with Boston and Chicago but no way would I go to Chicago for a White Sox game (I don’t care who they are playing I’d go to three Wrigley games). August is Yankees and Mariners. Labour Day is the Marlins which I’d consider but then I looked at the prices in Miami that weekend. I’m going to the Rays in May, and the Yankees series doesn’t work for timing so unless I do LA (probably under 5% chance as I’ll be working the FIBA u18s for s*** money)

Make the trip west and see them in Oakland at the end of July. The Bay Area is awesome!

Gibbons said Tulo has been dealing with a bone spur in his heel. Doesn't believe it'll be an issue this spring but he still might have a bit of a delayed start to camp. #BlueJays

Diaz will get the majority of games at SS in 2018 (and Solarte at 2B). That's pretty much the entire reason why the Jays had to trade assets to get backups capable of starting.

I can't wait until the Tulo/Travis infield is finally a thing of the past. I like Travis, and Tulo was a beast in his prime, but neither one can stay healthy, and one is declining hard, so just please move on.

I’m a bit surprised that someone hasn’t started a Spring Training Thread with this tweet as the first post. ;)

On it.

I don't think the renos will start until after Spring training. Both the Sarasota Park and Bradenton are a step up from Dunedin.... the 2 nicest parks in the area are Phillies in Clearwater and Steinbrenner Park in Tampa.

I can't wait to get down there in April to watch some A ball. Hopefully Vlad and/or Bichette may be there but I'm not counting on it.

Looking forward to your excellent daily reports again this year spats...?

One of these guys is not like the other, friends or not. Archer does an unbelievable amount of charity work in every city he visits, amongst what he does in Tampa, he's a special, man, with a huge heart.

The charity work your talking about I believe is through the big brother program. I believe I remember reading that he will show up to a big brother event and just hangout with the kids during most road trips. If so that’s pretty amazing.

Yes, that's it, and talks to kids in schools about his speech impediment(stutters), and how to over come.

Thanks. Won't be there till April but will check in at the Complex if anyone is rehabbing and checking out the short season prospects until they are assigned. Of course will send observations about the Dunedin team in A ball and any one of interest in rookie ball(extended spring). Would love to meet up with anyone who might be down there in April.

Clearwater and Stienbrenner are 1 - 2 for minor league parks i have visited. Any chance you will still be there in May for the Jays series?

I will be there for that series...usually buy the cheapest seats available and move down behind home plate.

We lost a lifelong Blue Jays fan today. My father-in-law lost his battle with cancer this morning at age 72. He's been my "father" for over half my life now (been with my wife for 19 years). While there was a stark difference in our views of baseball - we will forever be connected by our love for the Jays.

Condolences, man. Maybe he can pull some strings with the big guy and get the Jays into the post season.
