BTS Community Moderator Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 A couple of moves today: - Nats sign Kurt Suzuki for 2/10 - Indians acquire Chih-wei Hu for Gionti Turner I like that addition for Cleveland.
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 Mariano Rivera, Roy Halladay, Andy Pettitte, Todd Helton among newcomers on ’19 Hall of Fame ballot IMO Halladay would have made it in first time anyway, but he now should receive >90% votes.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 Supposedly AA has asked several times if Trout could be moved. It's a 12UP article and I've never heard of them but I can't imagine what those calls would sound like

glory Old-Timey Member Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 Sheffield is one of the players going to Seattle.
King Old-Timey Member Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 lol this is going to be an absolute steal for NYY
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 boooooooo.... it makes tons of sense for the Yanks... but boo
glory Old-Timey Member Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 Sheffield, Swanson, and Don Thompson-Williams for Paxton.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 What the f*** kind of return is that? One top 50 prospect plus two C prospects that are old for their level in exchange for Paxton? Gross, the Yankees made away like bandits on this.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 Sheffield, Swanson, and Don Thompson-Williams for Paxton. Seems light
Superdood Verified Member Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 Meh, Jays weren't about to compete in this division for at least another 3-5 years anyways. Let the Yankees trade all their young prospects away, i'm ok with it.

Let the Yankees trade all their young prospects away, i'm ok with it. The Yankees traded away one prospect of consequence in this deal, a pitching prospect no less, in exchange for an ace. This barely puts a dent in their future, and I definitely hope the Jays are aiming to be competitive at most 3 years from now, hopefully even two seasons once the farm system starts to feed in to the MLB team.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 Seems light Very, don't get it??? Dipoto's f***ed.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 Sheffield, Swanson, and Don Thompson-Williams for Paxton. Sheffield isn't nothing, but it still feels like a horribly light return. Likely a big win for the Yankees.

Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 19, 2018 Posted November 19, 2018 Who do you guys think will land James Paxton? If the Yankees don't sign Happ, I see them going that route. Hmm... who do you think gets it done, heading back to the M's? Josh James Cionel Perez J.B. Bukauskas Seth Beer/Alvarez Something of this ilk? Edit: For the Yankees... Bird Frazier Adams Florial/Medina??? What the f*** kind of return is that? One top 50 prospect plus two C prospects that are old for their level in exchange for Paxton? My posts a few days ago... Cashman left a match in Dipoto's sock for good measure, lol. f*** me!
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 You think the Jays will be competitive within a couple of years?
King Old-Timey Member Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 I think Swanson is good too. But I'm surprised the Astros couldn't beat this. Unless DiPoto went all, "Can't trade inside division hurr". The Mariners asked for Whitley, that's why.
BTS Community Moderator Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 Mathis got a 2/6.25 guarantee. Market for catching seems pretty hot.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 You think the Jays will be competitive within a couple of years? 2+ sure.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 The Mariners asked for Whitley, that's why. Couldn't land arguably the best pitching prospect in baseball, so the Mariners take a major downgrade. I don't get it.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 2+ sure. I like the +...because that could be anything. 25 years is still technically 2+.

BTS Community Moderator Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 I thought he’d be back for one more. Sad to see him go.
