Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2018 Posted October 1, 2018 He looked safe, but did pass the bag.
HealthDream007 Verified Member Posted October 1, 2018 Posted October 1, 2018 He probably wouldve sucked if he stayed with the Orioles. Maybe. But one of the few things the Orioles were good at was putting together a bullpen.

Although Hader was more thought out as a starter, he's just been fantastic in his role. Your club has been always a BP, and TTO club, to an extent.

But of course, no one knows for sure. All I know is I'd love to have him on the O's right now.

HealthDream007 Verified Member Posted October 1, 2018 Posted October 1, 2018 What was the trade? Sorry, I'm being lazy... Looks like my memory is bad sometimes (stupid medication effects). (He was traded in 2013, not 2014) Jul 31, 2013 Baltimore sent outfielder L.J. Hoes and left-handed prospect Josh Hader to the Astros for Bud Norris. To be fair, we did get value out of Bud Norris and he was an important part of the 2014 rotation. Of course, I can now go back and point that we won the AL East in 2014 by 12 games so we didn't need him.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2018 Posted October 1, 2018 Buehler was/is a boss. Nice job so far.

He did help in '15, but...
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2018 Posted October 1, 2018 5 runs in 6 outs, while holding here, going to be tough. Rockies pitching for tomorrow night, smart.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2018 Posted October 1, 2018 Well Kenley Jansen isn't exactly solidifying his case for a bunch of high leverage innings in the postseason.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 Who gets home advantage if the Cubs play Atlanta or LA?
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 Who gets home advantage if the Cubs play Atlanta or LA? wildcard will never host, other than world series between another wildcard, then idk how they decide it.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 This is an awesome pitching duel. Damn Buehler is a beast j
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 Severino starting over Happ for the Yanks in the WC game. People seem surprised by this. Why? Severino was superior in almost every single way this season, including his recent success in the month of September. Are people speculating Happ would start b/c of his W/L record with the Yanks?

Probably more comparing ERA - Severino 2nd half of the season = 5.57, Happ since the trade = 2.69. Plus Severino only got one out when starting in the wildcard last year. People still put too much weight behind stuff like this, but luckily for the Yankees their management doesn't.
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 Gotta think Rockies have a good chance to beat the Cubs, Lester is pretty meh
glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 2, 2018 Posted October 2, 2018 Over their last 11 starts, Happ is 7-0 with a 2.69 ERA (4.21 FIP) while Severino is 5-5 with a 5.12 ERA (3.21 FIP). So yeah, combination of W/L and ERA. I don't know what OAK's splits are against lefties and righties, but it's really a toss up here. Severino is better, but for one game match ups are very important. Plus the Yankees probably go with Green for 2-3 innings and then Robertson/Betances/Chapman for another 3-4 so they won't even use the starter much.
