onwego Verified Member Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 Great shot of the pitcher screaming s*** in 100% bitter anger and bending in half on the Stanton walk-off I think I'll go listen to John Sterling's call, make some use of my MLB audio subscription A Stantonian home run!!!! (in case you were wondering what John would say...)
TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 Jesus Christ I hate people who take video vertically. Take video horizontally, like your f***ing TV looks people! you should film a rant about it.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 Paxton got rekt by the Yanks in the 1st, 2, 2-run dingers and Haniger took one back from Stanton in deep CF... Now Seager hits a 2 run bomb off Severino...
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 Wacha to the DL... Oblique strain.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2018 Posted June 21, 2018 They are calling Stanton's walkoff homerun his first signature Yankee moment. I see this more as the beginning of the Mariners collapse. For me it's just a question of whether it is a complete collapse or do they stick in a playoff spot until late. The M's are really starting to reel off those L's... 4 in a row and they have Boston next.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2018 Author Posted June 22, 2018 The two dudes on the Pirates broadcast were having a conversation about Zack Godley, referencing his high walk rate and ERA as reasons they can't understand how he's 7-5. Guy 1: "How is he 7-5 (laugh)? Run support at the right time, maybe?" Guy 2: "Yeah, has to be." They then go on to discuss pitcher wins, and this is the conversation that took place: Guy 1: "Some in baseball are dismissing them (wins), but isn't that what you want your starting pitcher to go out and do - win ball games?" Guy 2: "I'm stunned! It's ludicrous to say that wins aren't important for pitchers. My goodness! I mean, that's so...crazy. That's the world we live in. Why would you even want to pitch if wins weren't important?" Guy 1: "Yeah. What good is a pitcher, then - what good's a starting pitcher?" Holy f***. Pretty sure these guys are worse than Buck and Pat.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2018 Posted June 22, 2018 Holy f***. Pretty sure these guys are worse than Buck and Pat. Buck and Pat are likely in the top half. We're just so used to hearing them, that little annoyances grow over time.

Well if the Jays don't have a miracle run in them, then I hope the Angels catch them. The fact that Trout could walk down the street in any city and probably not get noticed by more than half the people in the area is sad. Dude will go down as one of the greatest ever. Give him some shine.

P2F Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2018 Author Posted June 22, 2018 Buck and Pat are likely in the top half. We're just so used to hearing them, that little annoyances grow over time. I disagree. Buck and Pat are comfortably in the bottom half. Buck is a good colour commentator and Shulman is a fantastic play-by-play guy. Honestly, Shulman really helps Buck reel it in and focus on the game instead of blithering on with Pat about incoherent half-thoughts and fabricated narratives. Buck and Pat are awful, but Dan and Buck are really good.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2018 Author Posted June 22, 2018 You and boxbike, will be better. We're probably gonna suck for the first little while, but hopefully, we'll get pretty good at it in time.

P2F Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2018 Author Posted June 22, 2018 Pessimist. Lol. I'm just being realistic and tempering expectations out of the chute. You don't even think the podcast will work, so who's really the pessimist among us?

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2018 Posted June 22, 2018 It's very early so there's a lot of noise, but man defensive metrics are not a fan of Miguel Andujar's defense. -11 DRS already lol
MarcoSanchez Verified Member Posted June 22, 2018 Posted June 22, 2018 Looking forward to Mariners going on an extended losing streak.
