Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 I gave you THE Amed Rosario too! Did you?
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 Did you? Yeah it was the three for Taillon. I feel kinda bad none of the three have worked out but Martes and Rosairo are still young so who knows.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 Justin Wilson just got rekt by the Bucs... Polanco with 2 jacks... Sorry Hurl.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 Polanco is having a massive start to the season. Big breakout potential.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 Justin Wilson just got rekt by the Bucs... Polanco with 2 jacks... Sorry Hurl. He was on my bench until today too. I care more for the Survivor pool. Need to take 2 of 3 from the Braves this weekend.
nmrch Verified Member Posted April 12, 2018 Posted April 12, 2018 (edited) Someone complained about Fangraphs "going down the shitter" but if they can keep producing content like this then lets they keep declining https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-marlins-are-claiming-to-be-british/ Edited April 12, 2018 by nmrch

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 Cincy bullpen completely imploding. back to back taters followed by 12 straight balls.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 Cincy bullpen completely imploding. back to back taters followed by 12 straight balls. Five straight walks lmao.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 Five straight walks lmao. was hoping for a couple of holds from Hicks and Norris, thats out the window, s***.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 was hoping for a couple of holds from Hicks and Norris, thats out the window, s***. I was hoping he wouldn't find the strike zone until after the guys I own in various leagues were up, but he found it just in time
havok24 Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 Bases clearing triple for Ohtani. Dude is so f***ing good.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 This just in: Mike Trout is pretty good at baseball. More at 11.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 This just in: Mike Trout is pretty good at baseball. More at 11. It's already past 11
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 Clayton Richard as a PH... breaks up a no-hitter, lol.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 It's already past 11 Did you just assume my time zone?
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 It's already past 11 There is always another one coming around
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 Clayton Richard as a PH... breaks up a no-hitter, lol. First time an MLB team 1 hit a club in MLB history giving up it's lone hit to a pitcher, since 1935. That's trippy and cool.
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 Bases clearing triple for Ohtani. Dude is so f***ing good. Ohtani was also intentionally walked in the 9th.

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 Clayton Richard as a PH... breaks up a no-hitter, lol. The Padres sent up a pitcher to pinch hit in the 7th inning? WTF? wha...what the f*** is wrong with that organization?
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 Did you just assume my time zone? Mine is the only one that matters.
jimedmonds Verified Member Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 is it generally agreed that Roger Clemens' 12.1 WAR is the single-season record in the modern era? If so, anyone else thinks that Ohtani will likely smash that record this season?

If so, anyone else thinks that Ohtani will likely smash that record this season? Can I answer no to both of those questions? What WAR calculation are you using? Fangraph's says Clemens 1997 WAR was 10.7 while Baseball Reference says it was 11.9....both of which are topped by Barry Bonds in 2002 (12.7) I'd love to see Ohtani be that good. It would be fantastic for baseball, but he loses value because he DH's and is a part time player - so it's incredibly unlikely he'll approach 12-13 WAR in a season.

Also you have to be uh...kinda good to post a +10 WAR season, like his teammate has, the leader in WAR all time through age 25. It's been 14 games, it'll be unreal if Ohtani surpasses 5-6 WAR, let alone competing for the best single season in the modern era. People might need to tamper expectations a bit.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 He won't get anywhere near 10 WAR this year due to innings restrictions, but the Angels need to start getting him in the lineup more.

I didn't realize he said "this year". My comments were more based on his career peak.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 13, 2018 Posted April 13, 2018 I would be interested to see if Ohtani actually gets to play some RF this year. If the Angels are competing and hes hitting well you have to believe he will be in the lineup everyday hes not pitching.
