Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 They also have some pretty interesting arms in Chris Rodriguez and Griffen Canning. It's a pretty decent system, it's come a long ways...i would say it's middle of the pack in terms of prospects. The swing from literally one year to the next was pretty incredible, they went from having a worst in baseball kind of system to being middle of the pack, that's huge while adding guys like Ohtani for nothing, Cozart and Kinsler on reasonable deals to an already decent core featuring the best player in the game.

The Angels are one of my fav teams to watch right now.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 Something is REALLY off with the Nats.. 4 losses in a row, and they really need Daniel Murphy back offensively. They could also use a bullpen..
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 The Angels are one of my fav teams to watch right now. And even despite a struggling Trout early on, they're 7-3! Still, like the Red Sox--waiting for them to play tougher competition. Can't just fatten up on Oakland and a Cleveland Indians team that is struggling offensively due to injuries and a MIA Jose Ramirez..

I'm sure Trout and his .179 BABIP entering today is in big trouble going forward.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 (edited) They should call up Robles. On the plus side, with Harper hitting his 6th HR in the 1st inning, he now has more homers than strikeouts and more HR the Dodgers, Rays, Tigers, Royals and Marlins Edited April 9, 2018 by John_Havok

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 Man the ball sounds so good off the bat in the ESPN broadcast, having the audio behind the plate is awesome.
Hipfan Verified Member Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 Lol yeah he is finished for sure. Do you think they would flip him for Pillar and a SRF I'd only take that trade if they are willing to eat some of that salary!
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 Bryce Harper is some kind of locked in right now.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 Lol Michael Taylor That was so bad.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 Lmao what was that AB? At least swing the bat bro.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 That was utter dominance by Sammy Solis, the newest LOD Blue Jay.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 Jessica Mendoza needs to stop complaining about the best player on the field not running a slightly bit harder on a routine groundball that is an out 99/100 times.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 Brutal baserunning by Assdrible.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 Ohtani ROY, MVP, Cy Young and All Star as a SP and Hitter
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 Ohtani ROY, MVP, Cy Young and All Star as a SP and Hitter How does FG not have an Ohtani article yet about that performance yet? The writers are probably fighting over it.
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-dodgers-will-probably-be-fine/ The team projected to win almost 100 games is still probably going to be good despite a 3-6 start. The type of hard-hitting analysis they built their brand on.
nmrch Verified Member Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 Ohtani ROY, MVP, Cy Young and All Star as a SP and Hitter I know you're joking but i think only the Angels capping his innings at 170-180 will keep him out of Cy Young considerations. Its easy to say its just two starts but swinging strike rate stabilizes very early and that combined with his raw talent, its hard to be be anything but super excited with him.

nmrch Verified Member Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 over 10 fWAR player There's still uncertainty over what his bat is worth, even a 125 wRC+(which is hardly conservative) DH only hitter who gets 400 PA(again, fairly generous) is probably only worth like 1-1.5 WAR.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-dodgers-will-probably-be-fine/ My god, Fangraphs is really going in the shitter.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 My god, Fangraphs is really going in the shitter. To be fair they've been making these types of reactionary SSS articles for a couple of years now so the new guys are just following suit. Quantity over quality yay!
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 Has there ever been a more conclusive pick for player of the week?
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 Has there ever been a more conclusive pick for player of the week? I don't know about that, but it's definitely right up there.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 O's pen is so depleted, they've called up top prospect Hunter Harvey.. well before he should've been. But they're desperate..
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2018 Posted April 9, 2018 Has there ever been a more conclusive pick for player of the week? Considering Bryce Harper hit 4 homeruns last week and walked 38% of the time, you would have thought he would be pretty conclusive... I'm sure during one of Edwin's torrid streaks in a previous May he would have been a clear cut choice.
