Looks like Wainwright will be ready for his next start, meaning the Cards will have to make a decision on Jack Flaherty. Probably makes the most sense to send him down to AAA as planned, but he looked damn good last night.

Yeah he's supposed to start tomorrow, right?

I just read through that a bit. What I took was a lot of people suggesting Duquette didn't want to sign Chris Davis, he wanted to trade Machado and Britton last year, etc. They suggested Buck had a role in these decisions....I assume he voiced his opinion to Peter Angelos who trumped Duquette?

If so, Duquette's a little cuck, he should resign.

Preston Tucker touched up Scherzer for a 3 run shot... Scherzer got a knock and picked up a rib-eye steak.

Braves are going to have a tough decision to make when Acuna's ready.. who do you jettison? Tucker, Enciarte and Markakis are making it tough..

Lol yeah, Nick Markakis is gonna block Acuna.

Yep. I am amazed it's taken them this long to realize that Showalter is a s***** manager but then I guess they aren't the smartest fanbase.

That's the most likely move. They'll likely dump Lane Adams and/or make Markakis a bench player or trade him. Acuna's not going to be in AAA long--and the Braves need to have the best team on the field, especially if they want to take the next step towards becoming a force in the NL East, especially as Washington is set for a major fall after this season when Harper departs.

Scott Boras says Trevor Rosenthal has decided not to sign with anyone this season

He is going to rehab all year and hopes to sign a multi year major league deal this off season

Markakis playing well is the best case scenario for them because it could make him tradeable.

Freddie Freeman has to be an early MVP pick so far this season by his absolutely dominant play. Though it's a small sample size.. anyone who pitches to him is doing it at their own risk. And for the first time in years, he has protection in the lineup..

He was absolutely dominant last year before he broke his wrist and spent 6 weeks on the DL. Before that DL stint, Freeman was arguably the best hitter in baseball, slashing .341/.461/.748 (.485 wOBA) over the first 6 weeks of the season. This isn't a SSS - he's an elite hitter (with or without lineup protection, which is as fictional as Noah's Ark)

The guy's been the best lead off hitter of all time in concerns of OPS... saw it last night. No-one's really close, #5 was a bat from '27, lol. Ellsbury was #3 which surprised me.

He's slightly younger than JD and not as good but it's a pretty close comp. Between Altuve and Blackmon, I think you could derive some sort of number to offer JD. At this point though looks like JD is going to FA and I'd be surprised if he's on the Jays next year and beyond.

5 years 125 is fair. Or 4 120, term is the issue!
