Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 Yeah, and JP Arencibia had an OPS of 3.000 after his first day in the bigs. Matt Davidson is going to fade so fast it's not even funny. Did you just compare Davidson to JPA?
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 I like that Minny let Berrios go the distance today.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 I like that Minny let Berrios go the distance today. Yeah, 107 pitches too. Never see that this early in the season
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 Khris Davis is terrible in the outfield.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 Chapman just hit a bomb off Ohtani.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 Red Sox win. 3-1 to start the year--albeit playing Tampa. Could easily have been 4-0.. Tampa is really bad so far this season--no power, Matt Duffy the only one hitting. It's wasting a lot of good pitching for the Rays. Orioles are bad too..
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 Chapman just hit a bomb off Ohtani. And it wasn't a cheapie.. it's like the A's have adjusted to Ohtani already.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 Chapman just hit a bomb off Ohtani. That's my guy!
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 Ugh, why can't the Rays score? It has been painful to watch the Rays so far this season.. must be tough for a team with zero power hitters. When are the two weeks gonna come before the Rays can start calling up Bauers, Adames, Arroyo, etc.. this is so painful to see. In two weeks
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 In two weeks At the rate things are going, the fans aren't going to wait long.. by the time their prospects get called up, they'll be putting up Expos-level attendance when the fans give up on the team, and the team will be deep under .500.. but I'm expecting changes in Tampa in the coming week if they struggle vs. the Yankees this week.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 Ohtani's stuff is nasty but the command is iffy.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 Lmao Khris Davis. He's an adventure out there.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 Angels bullpen's been struggling in the 9th.. tying run at the plate, Parker already out of the game for Middleton..
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 And it wasn't a cheapie.. it's like the A's have adjusted to Ohtani already. Ohtani threw a bad pitch. He averaged 98 MPH with the heater and was great today.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 Ohtani threw a bad pitch. He averaged 98 MPH with the heater and was great today. That was really the only mistake he made. Very good line. 6 IP, 6K's 1BB, 3 H.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 And Ohtani gets his 1st MLB win--though the Angels bullpen made it an adventure.
King Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 Glasnow is your next relief ace out of the pen.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 Glasnow is your next relief ace out of the pen. Is Glasnow throws strikes in any role - he'll be an ace.

Encouraging start for Ohtani, he could get even better once he acclimatises some more (fatigue from the long season is the biggest potential hurdle IMO).
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 The Tiggers are terrible. Pirates just made them walk the plank all weekend, especially after that opener where a bad slide by Castellanos trying to score the winning run cost them and eventually led to a Pirates win.. sure they're scoring runs, but the pitching is so horrible outside of Fulmer, it's making it difficult for Detroit to win games. D's bad as well. And more futility tomorrow, as they're playing the Royals, another team destined for a race for the #1 pick.. what's your bet we see lots of runs due to bad pitching? And the O's--Twins limited them to 11 hits the entire weekend. They still are waiting for the 3-run HR..and Minnesota exploited it. Having no Mark Trumbo isn't helping either..and their SP is a dumpster fire after Bundy, and good chance they'll be in a huge hole by next weekend with their sets vs. Houston and the Yankees.. how long before Machado demands a trade out of that organization, especially with free agency looming at year's end?

By refusing to sign an extension, he's making it clear to the Orioles that they should trade him. There's no need to make a demand.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted April 2, 2018 Posted April 2, 2018 Ok throw out your predictions. Who is going to be the last team to win a game, right now the teams that have a goose egg in the win column are: K.C Detroit The Joey Votto Reds San Diego I am going with the Royals but could very well be the Reds.

I'll give the Padres a slight edge over the Reds. Detroit and KC are playing each other.

My bet's the Royals. Padres, Reds and Tiggers have difficult competition this series.
