glory Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2018 Posted March 21, 2018 Insead of Cobb and Cashner they could have had Darvish. The player has to want to sign with the team, too.

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2018 Posted March 21, 2018 That's what I thought Cobb would get before the market tanked. Nice deal for him.

I hope he enjoys money because he just sold his soul to the devil and will be playing for one god awful team in a s*** hole of a City for the next 4 years. Edited March 21, 2018 by Brownie19

Forbes just ranked Oriole Park at Camden Yards the 2nd best park in the majors behind AT&T Park and ahead of Busch Stadium. Rogers Centre was 22nd. No suprise really that the white sox park, Oakland, and Tampa were the bottom 3. https://www.forbes.com/sites/maurybrown/2018/03/19/ranking-all-30-of-mlbs-ballparks-first-to-worst/#280b31566be4
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2018 Posted March 21, 2018 A team like the Orioles should be saving up all the draft picks they can get. Like....they're not a playoff team with Cobb, I guess they're trying to milk out any talent they can get while they still have Machado.

It's a really s***** park. And it's Guaranteed Rate® Field. How could you not remember that?

Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2018 Posted March 21, 2018 The New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox are "very close" to agreeing a deal to play two Major League Baseball regular season games in London in June 2019. NBA and NFL regular season games hosted in London the last few years have helped to increase popularity of both sports here, it's well past due that baseball does the same thing.

I'm actually planning a trip to Baltimore this summer to see Camden Yards because it's awesome. We just won't be staying in Baltimore.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2018 Posted March 21, 2018 Well, Cobb actually passed the physical. The O's once again defer money to him in the deal. It seems like they've made a lot of those kinds of deals. I wonder how much money they're gonna be paying out in the future to guys no longer on their team?

Can't believe its even ahead of PNC. Didn't really care for Dodger Stadium that much TBH, wasn't anything special. - I prefer Citi Field over the New Yankee Stadium. - Arlington at No. 14 is pretty high. - Minute Maid Park at No. 21 and Nationals Park at No. 24 is odd. Both should be ranked higher. - Great American Ballpark is a lot better than the Rogers Centre. Cincy is a shithole city, but the ballpark is still nice. - Rogers Centre should be ranked around 25 or 26. Obviously ahead of Tampa, Oakland and Chicago. Angels Ballpark was meh and never been to Chase Field, though I guess you can put the RC into that group and its a wash between those 3.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted March 21, 2018 Posted March 21, 2018 Agree on Arlington. If you just straight up compare the park itself it to RC it's better. But RC does have the dome, as prehistoric as it is, and it's in a waaaay better location. Arlington is a dump with almost nothing to do near there. I went to the ALDS games there a couple of years ago and it was boring as hell. Maybe that type of location appeals to people who want to drive to the game and park and then go home when it's done? As opposed to dealing with a downtown.

I enjoyed Great American Ballpark, but I don't know if it's way better than RC. The food options and area behind the park where they have little diamonds set up and all the food concessions is pretty cool though. I really enjoyed Progressive Field last year. We stood in the right field corner (in the standing room area) and the atmosphere was great. PNC is a gem though. Best park I've ever been too. We'll see if Camden can match it this year!
