On September 1 we can expand to 40. Who should we add?

Depending what happens in the next 2 weeks standings wise, we probably stick to guys on the 40 already (it's already a little sketchy as is, so I don't think we want to add guys to it if we don't have to). Dwight Smith, Teoscar Hernandez, Borucki, Biagini (if not before), Campos would be my guess.

 

Maybe Saunders too.

Alford might be the only exciting name we see. Everyone else will just be filler and depth guys.

If Jays drop down in the race, we could see Danny Jansen a fair bit, along with Alford and Borucki.

Hernandez, Jansen, Campos, Fields. DSJ. Maybe Borucki if Rowley/Biagini really suck?

 

I still would like to see Rowdy and Alford get a few at bats at the mlb level but I don't think that's going to happen.

I'd be surprised if they don't (unless they are worried about wear and tear). I have Jansen as a no doubter December add to the 40 so why wait. Oblique strains come back so easily, I'd be shutting Martin down at this point. I suppose it depends if you consider the Jays as having a chance or not.

Only Alford. I highly doubt we'll see wither Jansen or Borucki.

Yeah, good points. I don't think Martin could even get back by seasons' end, so why push it. Also, I just finished watching yesterdays' game Lopez has to be far better than that, awful way to lose.

AAAA? You seem high on him. He's young but really hasnt shown anything that he will even be able to do well at AA, let alone be too good for AAA but not good enough for the majors

I'd like to see McGuire get a shot. He's been raking since joining NH and could be a good backup option next year.

McGuire has been really good in AA. His power is starting to show. Coming into this season, he hit 5 home runs total in his MiLB career. He's already matched his career total in HR in 25 games in AA.

Yeah, he's been killing it for the past month. It's likely just been a hot streak and nothing more, but I'd like to see him get a chance to prove himself in the bigs. Martin will probably miss some extended periods next year and I think McGuire could at least provide a steady presence behind the dish instead of constantly rotating through guys all year.
