John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 Damn you for this. Now he's cursed
MunenoriKawasakiMVP Verified Member Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 If he can consistently be just under a 4.50 ERA it would be a massive improvement from the trash we've thrown out there to pitch this year.
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 The playoffs will be easy to make
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 If he can have a Todd Redmond career path that'd be a huge win.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 Jays really don't have a choice right now do they?
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 The only depth guy who actually gave us a chance to win a game. No reason not to keep running him out there see if we might actually have a 5th starter. I would rather see Rowley get the rest of starts in that spot then see Bolsinger, Valdez or Tepesch again.

Cleveland Steamer Verified Member Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 whatever happened to him, is he injured or did he just quit baseball after the O's released him? He's working at Chippendale's Las Vegas.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 whatever happened to him, is he injured or did he just quit baseball after the O's released him? Probably done. Can't really see him playing indy ball. I don't think he's officially retired though

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 Having a rough night Spanks? My post had nothing to do with comparing Redmond to Rowley, it was just stating Redmond isn't playing anymore.

The Beeg will take Tepesh spot, cause he suxxxxxx Nothing else.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 Yeah Biagini would probably be the better choice as a 5, but I think there's a pretty strong possibility they'll both be in the rotation next year behind Stro, Happ and Sanchez - assuming his delicate lady fingers can figure out how not to blister
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 What's your definition of stick? This season? A healthy ape has a chance at sticking this season. As a building piece for the future? f*** no.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted August 13, 2017 Posted August 13, 2017 A healthy ape has a chance at sticking this season. We had one at DH, then he got hurt

Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 Rowley will become a dominant fixture in the Jays' rotation then will get sent over to North Korea by Trump.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 Rowley will become a dominant fixture in the Jays' rotation then will get sent over to North Korea by Trump. Doh!
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted August 14, 2017 Posted August 14, 2017 Doh! Yup lol But seriously, I don't know why people are so down and sarcastic on this guy, comparing him to Redmond. If there's a late-bloomer, lightning-in-a-bottle type of guy to put some hope in, this guy is it. He's had decent MiLB numbers even if his best competition is a couple of years younger than him. The K numbers aren't where you would like for a minor league call up and the projections don't give him any respect with ERA/FIP way over 5. But, meh, gotta put faith in something. Steamer can't deal with the military effect. The discipline instilled within him is worth at least 200 basis points on his ERA. Military graduate will be the new FIP-beater. Dozens of articles on fangraphs will be written about it.

Do they plan on making him the 5th starter this year or are we just gonna cycle through more trash after Tepesch gets destroyed?

He's been sent down to get back into the routine of starting and if all goes well he'll be back in the big league rotation after 2 or 3 starts.

Then he will claim Asylum in Canada , get accepted, and be restricted to playing only home games, he will also have spring training on his own in Mexico!
