It's way too early in the season to be having report cards, but I'd definitely give Biagini at least an A-, and would have no problem putting him at an A+. He has the most innings pitched by a reliever in the Majors and those haven't been run-of-the-mill mop up efforts, as Joe continues to prove that he's an asset out of the bullpen and perhaps making a case for himself to be stretched out in a very worrisome Blue Jays' rotation.

Hey we're in a battle with KC for the first overall draft pick next year - if we're going to lose this division and not make the playoffs - at the very least lose BIIIIG and get the first pick overall. Worked out for the Leafs pretty well as they seem like a nice young team going forward.

This team sure could use a bunch of young talented players - I'd keep the young starters and "Be a Genie" who has been a Genie and as soon as the vets get hot and peak someone's interest unload. Trade Estrada, Happ and Liriano

Trade the entire positional player unit if possible. Sooner the better to ensure we finish dead last. I want to see Latos and Lawrence as #3 and #4. Fans are gone anyway this year - may as well dump the salaries. JD, JB, Smoak (trade him while he's hot), Martin, Tulo, Pillar, Travis, Morales (no point in a pricey dh for an AL east last place team), barney, Goins, Pearce - the lot. Re-sign Kuwasaki to play short and be the number 3 hitter!

I want that first round draft pick. Let's not wait 30-40 more games to figure out that this team is terrible. Unload now. Save cash for next year or the year after. Give some of our guys an opportunity to win a WS too. Be willing to trade within the division.

How does Biagini get a C+ and Joe Smith an A?

Not going to read the useless article, but I'm guessing Biagini has a handful of blown saves (dumb stat) while Smith has none.

It's too early for this to be worth squat, some guys are just starting to come around.

When would this ever be worth squat? Just look at WAR!

Blue Jays Regraded Report Card By NJH

Rotation

Estrada A+ : He's been as good as Max Scherzer. Could be a career year. Extend this man.

Stroman A- : Only one truly bad start and he was hurt.

Liriano B- : Good enough. Could be better.

Happ C- : Wasn't great and then got hurt.

Sanchez C- : See Happ.

Lawrence D- : He might have been trash but at least he was humble about it and frankly it's not his fault he got promoted

Latos F : The F is for f*** Mat Latos

Bullpen

Smith, Osuna, Biagini A : They've all been good. Osuna has a 2.04 FIP with no walks!

Leone C+ : surprisingly effective but I don't think it lasts

Loup C+ : missing bats but also missing the strikezone

Barnes C- : too early to get a good grade

Tepera D : no bonus points for getting lucky in my class

Howell, Grilli F- : the F is for f*** Mat Latos

Position Players

Pillar A- : loses points for running the bases like a clown

Donaldson A- : loses points for playing hurt like a f***ing idiot

Martin B+ : I'll take a .330 wOBA from Russell for the next 3 years, please

Carrera, Barney B- : whatever

Smoak B- : funny that a .327 wOBA from a hulking first baseman with negative value at every other skill seems like a success

Coghlan C+ : the plus is for the slide!

Tulo C : was doing fine

Goins C- : get off my team

Bautista, Pearce, Morales D- : these guys have to be better

Travis D- : luck dragon ate your homework

Salty F- : The F is for f*** Mat Latos

Bautista has been better over the most recent part of our season.

First 15 games: .388 OPS, .189 wOBA, 10 wRC+

Last 13 games: .892 OPS, .391 wOBA, 153 wRC+

And agree, f*** Matt Latos. Bring on The House!

Bautista looks like he's lost bat speed, but on the plus side, at least his arm is noticeably better than it's been in the year-plus since the Delmon Young incident.
