Maile

- Career wRC+ of 49 (210/235/331)

- Hit 194/214/195 in 42 PA with Buffalo

- 0/6 with 2 walks in his first couple of games.

If you like his defense, fine, but if you think his bat is anything more than utterly terrible you are only fooling yourself.

Projections have them as the same: hot garbage. It is very difficult to be worse than Salty was in his short time here though.

its just nice having someone competent behind the plate, his bat is yea probably awful still.

He's terrible, Josh Thole level hitter. But compared to Saltlamachia and Navarro he's an upgrade which is sad. Its too bad they couldn't sing Norris.

All I really want is for our backup catcher not be a complete drop off from Martin defensively where he actually hurts us. Whether he can hit or not is kind of irrelevant if we were rostering someone who does litterally nothing like Salty.

Not a lot of backup catchers can hit well. We should continue to look for an upgrade but all things considered I would rather role with Maile over a Salty or Navarro.

Mail's offense shouldn't matter at all, but it doesn't help having to start Goins, Barney, Coghlan and Carrera as well every f***ing night. Half the line up is warm bodies.

Is this the season's first decisive win? I guess one of the Angels wins was a laugher by the end too.

Just scratch out as many wins as possible and maybe this season is salvageable when JD, Tulo, Happ, and Sanchez return.

Man, Gibbons can piss me off to no end with his lineups and giving Pearce the shaft but the guy is an absolute gem.

Pearce has given himself the shaft man. He's been f***ing awful.

He must be hurt or something because he's been one of the very worst players in all of MLB so far. Can't fault Gibby not playing him, Smoak has been a lot better.

And he's a concrete post out in LF so unless he's hitting a ton not worth it.

Agreed. I don't know how Gibbons gets any blame for this, especially when Carrera and Smoak are both playing quite well.
