I imagine any contender at the deadline that needs a 3B pretty much all of them.... they don't even have to need a 3B, they can swap 3B and the other team can add prospects to pay for the upgrade
glory Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 I wouldn't mind trading Estrada and Liriano at the deadline, and then signing them back in the off-season. Someone's going to have to eat up innings. Maybe the Jays get lucky and get a few young position players for those two and then bring them back at $15-16mm aav. I mean they have s*** in the minors as far as pitching depth, and that probably wouldn't change in 2018 (probably 2019 is when some pitching might surface in the upper minors). If you want to retool on the fly, that's the way to do it. I don't think Liriano has any attachment to Toronto, but Estrada might. Trade him in July and make it known that you want him back in the winter. See if they can work out another deal.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Wonder what the Cubs could give us for a pitcher...or 2 come July

P2F Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Wonder what the Nats would give up for Pillar now. If they even have anything left to give outside of Robles. They also have Fedde and Soto.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Cease please I personally really would want Happ...maybe for Happ. Seems like a perfect match the way the teams have been playing
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 3, 2017 Author Posted May 3, 2017 Thanks for the article but what? 2nd round pick: ~$5m.5 3rd round pick: ~$3m 5th: ~$1m
xposbrad Verified Member Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 More injuries will make some of the BJ players more valuable to contending teams that need to find replacements. I just hope management is not that naive to think we have a chance this year and start making trades early.
