Are people seriously putting the blame on AA???

Yes.

He built the aging roster with a small window of contention. Shatkins tried to stretch the window for as long as they could. This was inevitable.

I usually don't like fans booing their teams, but right now it's frankly deserved. Struggling is one thing, mental errors and lack of concentration is quite another.

I cant see JD or Sanchez returning anytime soon. JB is not going to like playing out the string. Can't we sign Pagan or something just to seem like the team is doing something or are they counting pennies now, knowing season/obscene profits are tanking?

Yes, getting rid of Norris et al, not to mention Thor, was foolish. The 2015 moves were foolhardy as they seemed reckless with AA knowing he would not be back. The JD trade can be defended but the others???

I don't think Pagan is necessary right now. See what we have in Coghlan, who *should* be a well above average LF (he's really just an emergency infielder).

There really shouldn't be any panic after 12 games, just concern over approach at the plate. Maybe the new high performance department workouts has guys feeling out of sorts or something, who knows. Maybe it's just a general slump. It seems like a LOT of the game's top sluggers are having really, really bad starts to the season.

Are people seriously putting the blame on AA??? they had a whole offseason with money and a buyers market to buy offense, and they fielded a team with Smoak, carrera, and goins as integral parts..

Yes, dumbass. He built a flash-in-the-pan roster that was bound to implode on itself, which is why he dipped out while everything was looking golden before he'd have to deal with the long-term ramifications of his moves. When you make that type of decision, you don't get to conveniently receive praise for the good (two ALCS berths) while being exempt from the ramifications that come with an offense that revolves around a bunch of hitters that are 2-3 years past their prime. They didn't buy offense this offseason because throwing piles of money onto a tire-fire is a f***ing stupid move that would have put this team in the hole for the next 4-5 years. How this isn't obvious to some of you idiots is absurd. This is roster building 101: WHEN THE CORE OF YOUR ROSTER IS A SHELL OF ITS PRIME, FREE AGENCY IS NOT GOING TO SAVE YOU. You say that we're bad because we're fielding a team with Smoak, Careera, Goins as integral parts yet are obtuse to the fact that Bautista, Tulo, Martin, Travis...the guys that SHOULD be your guaranteed performers, are trash as well. Sorry buddy, but when that is the prognosis of your roster, then blowing your wad in free agency isn't going to get you into the playoffs. Cool we could have spent $100 million on more aging hitters and we'd be ~5-5 instead of 2-10 LOL.

There are unlucky at bats and signs of an attempt to advance runner, etc but JB is just trying to pull everything. I have seen Miggy highlights, etc and he isnt just flailing

All is okay. I woke up the bats.

Bats awake. Your welcome. Got to leave for work now. I expect to see a close game by the time I get there.

I agree, but you do not need to write Dumbass. Please be polite.

They definitely could have tinkered more to replace all the trash we carry on our roster but this is exactly right. This team is going to struggle to get to .500 this year. Bringing back Edwin and outbidding for Fowler weren't really going to make much of a difference and it would have only have made our payroll problems worse.

Not only did AA build an old team, but left nothing in the upper minors. This is Year 2 of Shatkins and only Tellez is in AAA. Two years without a pitching prospect in AAA or a position player prospect other than a 1B.

Team needed to keep winning on the big league level to bide some time for the farm to catch up, but wasn't meant to be based on the 2-10 start and now dog pile of injuries coming up. The core got old before the prospects could filter up. Things are going to get worse before they get better.

But yeah, let's keep longing for AA. Who wants a team that can win every year when you can have a team that makes the playoffs twice and then falls off the face of the earth again.

You seriously believe EE and fowler instead of smoak and carerra make no difference in losing 5 1 run games?

Thanks for the statement... Some people feel the need to use such words to add confidence to their opinion.... I feel for them.

Yea. Well I think most people thought this would be at least a fringe wildcard contender and not as bad as it looks they are. But with the age of the roster and everything I was fine with them not overbidding for Fowler or bringing back Edwin. They were simply going to have to reset and get younger at some point.

Smoak and Carerra are making 1/8th of what those 2 are making. We don't have an unlimited amount of money

Those two would have cost between $150-200mm to bring in together, and right now, Fowler has a 13 wRC+ and Edwin is at 89. The Jays would be in the exact same spot as they are now except tied down to two more unmovable contracts.

Dude, this was inevitable. We all hoped the winning could keep happening in spite of the age of the players, but baseball doesn't always work like that.

Well they are both playing like s*** right now. But let's be optimistic and say they get off to better starts with the Jays. Maybe they really are the difference and we win 2 of those games and are 4-8 instead of 2-10. That's not worth investing 150 million or so at all.

The team has core structural issues. Old team and not a great farm system. Think about the farm AA left Shapiro. Shapiro hasn't had one prospect, not a single one, to work with. He might get something out of Pompey or Tellez next year but those guys ceilings are average major leaguers. This team is a mess.
