Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 **WORTHLESS STAT ALERT** The Blue Jays have started 0-2 only 5 times previously in their history. Here is their regular season record afterwards: 2013: 0-2 (74-88) 2004: 0-2 (67-94) 2003: 0-2 (86-76) 1981: 0-2 (37-69) 1979: 0-2 (53-109) There's always next year

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Yes we're 0-2.. but we could easily be 2-0 if the damn offense would hit with RISP!!! Do something! Change up the lineup or something...
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Morales is going to have a huge year Can't wait for him to actually do some power stuff. We got this guy for 3 years!!!!!
TheGrandslamMan Verified Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 I think this offense is too old. Aside from Travis there's really no young offensive spark on the roster. Sure, there's some big names, but they're all just another year older. It's hard to fathom why the offense should be any better than it was last year and they just barely sneaked into the playoffs. It's gonna be crucial for the team for Bautista to have a big year.

I sure hope so. I'm trying to be optimistic about him. It looks like he's put on a little weight from last year though and his bat speed looks a little slow. Hopefully it's just a little off-season rust that he's yet to shake off.

I think they will be fine but age is not on our side with position players.

We have so many position players predicted to debut over the next two seasons that I don't see this as an issue - the next wave is on its way. In fact you can almost put together a full line up of prospects who could crack the majors by next season's end. C - McGuire 1B - Tellez 2B - Gurriel 3B - (no one fits so we'll go with Vladdy) SS - Urena LF - Ramirez CF - Alford RF - Pompey I don't think every team has that much position talent in their upper minors. I'd be ecstatic if either Zeke or Smoak could get on a heater for a month or two. Ride the hot hand until reinforcements arrive. Give me a 2006 Chris Shelton April all day long.

None of those prospects are though to be impact level players though. A couple might turn out to be average players (which is still very valuable) but with all the free agents its going to be tough to Win in 2018/2019.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
