Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 It's game two of the season. It is, but I think it's much deeper than what we see. Throw a breaking ball or an outside pitch and we score less than 3 runs pretty much every time. We don't use all fields and teams know it and have /will exploit it. We have good hitters that can adjust but dont/are not told to. Part of it is roster configuration (too many RHH) but a lot is just simply bad approach/ recognizing what a pitcher is doing or going to do. Plus we have been really bad at hitting pitches right down the middle in the last year +
ComeTogether Verified Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Strands three runners on base. Looks like where they left off last season

el duque Verified Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 It is the Ump's fault, even when he called ball for the strike he knew the DP was coming later
EdwinsParrot Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Yeah, it was gonna be tough to score 2 against him
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Had Britton on the ropes. Frustrating start.

glory Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 The "singles or die" offence this series was furstrating as hell. Get the hell outta Baltimore. Oh wait, 4 at the Trop is next. Just great.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 the good thing though is Happ looks good. Aside from that sequence of fastballs that were crushed he was pretty good again
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Happ with a solid start, bats will come around kids. Don't despair!
bowld Verified Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Bats have been anti clutch so far..starting 0-2 sucks

Just great. One year it's "the team is homers or nothing" now it's "singles or die", both garner criticism. These guys just can't catch a break.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 It's game two of the season. Has little to do with what game we are in...its a problem that has persisted for 2+ years.

Ray Verified Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Zach Britton is incredible. I take solace in the fact that a little part of Showalter probably dies every time he pitches at least.

Ray Verified Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 He has not been good this year... Still 0ER at last check, and got out of a jam when he needed to.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 He has not been good this year... He's been the exact same pitcher lol. Tons of groundballs and nasty high 90s sinker. You're making way too many conclusions from 2 games.
BillBucknorslegs Verified Member Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 It's game two of the season. **WORTHLESS STAT ALERT** The Blue Jays have started 0-2 only 5 times previously in their history. Here is their regular season record afterwards: 2013: 0-2 (74-88) 2004: 0-2 (67-94) 2003: 0-2 (86-76) 1981: 0-2 (37-69) 1979: 0-2 (53-109)

Still going to be one of the better relievers...but has not been good in his 2 games
