Pagan just seems to make so much sense. He's got to be cheap at this point and the move to LF helped mitigate his defensive issues (I can't believe he was playing centre as late as 2015). He's a fairly known commodity at the plate and my even get a boost going to a better set of parks.

 

He also is projected to be pretty bad. I don't think he's a clear upgrade over what the blue jays currently have.

Wouldn't a national writer have a source on the inside? Like wouldn't SN just get prepared anyway? Or has every time you have had to do something like this it actually happened?

Got an email that said "could we run a stream ASAP, it's in anticipation of Bautista signing and news will go live immediately" - 10:29am

This article seems to hint that a deal is done, without saying it is. I haven't listen to a live stream yet, I need to get a move on so I'll probably miss it, but this hints at it being done, but until something is official, I'm not going to get my hopes up:

No, I think that one is just the Score app? My neighbor works there. I am at 1 Mount Pleasant.

 

 

Oh I don't know, I work in that building occasionally and it has the Sportsnet 360 sign. Wasn't sure if it was separate or not.

Yeah Rogers has like 5 buildings in the downtown area for multiple broadcast departments, they even have a massive one up at Yorkmills as well where all Sportsnet's sat dishes are to downlink feeds since downtown Toronto has too many buildings to mess s*** up.

I don't really buy the projections, especially defense. Seems to be punishing him for declining CF defense, and not considering the move the LF.

I've become a pretty big Pagan supporter. I appreciate all his skills and think he'd do fine in LF here. My only big hang-up with him is age. I'm pretty wary of signing guys whose needles could easily be touching E. On the other hand, Pagan is a low cost move and I still think it's a better bet to go with Pagan wringing one more decent year out of his skills than Carrera repeating what he did in 2016 (which wasn't even impressive by overall measurements, but simply that he played the best version of himself).

With respect, because I don't have your correspondence in front of me, this reads more like setting up for the possibility than it being done. If it were actually done the guys whose jobs it is to be on top of news (Ken, JP, Heydude) would presumably be tweeting a storm. Again, I don't know what the process is at your workplace when streams are set up, but as an outsider it doesn't really seem convincing.

Do we trust our insider?

 

All I know is the stream requested is up, not sure if they will announce that he is playing in Japan or Toronto but a stream is running ready to go live for over an hour now.
