Never apologize. Someone's gotta carry the tentpole as far out as possible otherwise we end up with a milquetoast "gee whiz that's too bad" response to one of the biggest travesties in the franchise's history.

I mean seriously, Game 6 against the Royals might be the only thing that tops this.

lol, it was literally our only chance until Vlad is inducted in 2045.

The Phillies should feel really, really bad about this. Joe Carter is skyrocketing up my list of all-time favorite Jays and the Phillies are climbing my s*** list just as fast.

In retaliation Roberto Alomar should convince the veteran's committee to elect Joe Carter to the Hall of Fame.

Carter should then put a logo of Mitch Williams serving up a WS losing tater on his cap and turn his speech into a roast of the losingest club in baseball history.

This ******** no logo crap cannot stand.

Assuming he even goes in as a Jay

Don't worry, I have a good feeling about Otto Lopez

The reporter that asked her that question is a hero.

Lol @ no way to choose and then her description of both tenures. "Yeah, Roy started here, established himself here, entrenched himself in the community, wanted to stay here as long as possible, stated he wanted to go in as a Jay, decided to sign a 1 day contract in order to retire as a Jay...but he almost won stuff in Philly!"

Once the Jays heard about this they should have put on a full court press to try and get them to change their mind. Pressure the Hall of Fame on top of it. But this is what happens when you allow empty-suit stat nerds like Shatkins run the team. Too busy jerking off to prospect porn and exit veolcity to bother with s*** like this that matters.

There is no way in hell a powerful Canadian man like Paul Beeston would have taken it in the shorts like this.

“Gave us our chance for a ring”

Brandy talking like she was out there breaking bats with the nastiest 2-seamer ever

Careful. You are getting dangerously close to offending Drax. He may declare you as the next Hitler if you're not careful. Learn from my mistakes.

Yeah I tried to go easy on her since she is a widow but she hasn’t offered up any reasoning that makes sense for why she did this. If Roy didn’t care and wanted to go in like this, then fine, but he flat out said he wanted to go in as a Jay and retired as a Jay. This is straight ******** going against her husband’s wishes. Unless he privately told her he wanted to do this prior to this death, which at age 40 I don’t think he was thinking of a posthumous induction ever happening.

The Hall should ignore Brandy Halladay and do the right thing.

I can't see very many Phils fans getting upset. It would be like us getting mad about Paul Molitor going in as a Brewer or Dave Winfield as a Padre. Those aren't perfect comparisons, but it gets the point across.

Roy considered himself a Blue Jay and made a point to retire as a Jay. His children are Canadian, it's such a big part of their life. It's a shame that his wife had to hijack this and make it all about her.

You know, sad to say but you're probably right. For all his flaws (which greatly outnumbered his strengths) Beeston would not have accepted this because he does actually care about the franchise. There's no reason for Shapiro to have an investment in Toronto's history.

And regardless of what Brandy wants Roy to be remembered as, he'll be remembered as a Jays great. Sorry Brandy! You can't control what people think.

This is starting to really piss me off

I love how immediately following this video is the one of Brunt interviewing Doc where he says even in Philadelphia he felt like a Blue Jay in a Phillies uniform and how there was no question that he's a Blue Jay and would go in as a Blue Jay if he were to be elected...

That isn't a coincidence now is it TSN?

It's just video, in line, I've posted that many times today, too. She might want to look back on stuff like this, it'll change come July, I hope. No other fam... changed historical s***.

I got the feeling from watching her interview, she was more than a little defensive. I will give her the benefit and assume she thought she was doing the right thing. But Halladay was a Jay, and stated he wanted to go in as a Jay. Maybe she will go and change her mind. If not, really everyone knows he was a HOF Toronto Blue Jay, and a patch on his hat doesnt change that.

Apparently Greg Maddux chose to go in with no team. Didn't realize that. I think he should have gone in as a brave as he had the most success there but at least he spent a comparable amount of time between the Cubs and Braves.

f*** America. This is the decision of some dumbass white woman MAGA supporter (probably) that doesn't know a damn thing about baseball other than it was the method in which she will now have a sweet life sipping martinis guiltlessly banging poolboys as a widow for the next 40 years. I hope Trump pushes the United States into civil war and the epicenter is in Philadelphia.

Doing this for what? To respect the Phillies? That piece of s*** franchise that leads the universe in sports losses, took 90 years to win any sort of championship and will probably take another 90 years to win anything again?

Reading these comments I see a lot of people here are born yesterday. Disrespecting a widow? Oh boo-hoo. Unless Roy was putting on one of the biggest for-show stands for the Toronto media and fanbase and deep down didn't give a s***, she is completely disrespecting his wishes and legacy. Someone who is grieving the loss of their soulmate respects that deceased person's wishes. A money-grubbing opportunist or a dummy who doesn't give a s*** living off a sweet inheritance, doesn't.

Agreed. He died over a year ago. No need to take it over the line IMO but she's fair game for criticism when she makes controversial decisions like this. This is ********.
