John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Zimmerman just overtook the Expos/Nats franchise HR lead from Vlad Guerrero.
Governator Community Moderator Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 reminds me of David Wells. Minus the gut. Looks like Brett Cecil's deadly curve from the past.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 17, 2017 Posted July 17, 2017 Looks like Brett Cecil's deadly curve from the past. Really? I think Cecil's was a lot tighter - thrown a lot harder (mid 80's). That thing starts well over the batters head and lands in the dirt. Looks like a loopy 12-6 thrown in the low to mid 70's.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 Zimmerman just overtook the Expos/Nats franchise HR lead from Vlad Guerrero. I find these mixed franchise records stupid. Vlad was never a Nat and Zimm never played in Montreal.

"I don't know how people go out there and watch games. Now I know why sometimes people don't come to games." As expected, a reddit thread went up discussing Machados comments. A thread full of scorching hot takes about how baseball is indeed boring. Reddit is terrible. Some Reddit is ok, like /r/the_donald where many spicy memes are born, but baseball Reddit is full of cancerous casuals. That Sixbiscuit guy is a retarded *******. I would bet anything that he in fact does not understand baseball "just fine". Cranky old people are the worst.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/players-view-who-can-handle-the-ninth/ Interesting to hear players and managers take on who can handle the ninth. Gibby's view is included. It's interesting to see some suggest that during the season, routine is key and that players will perform better when in routine. I suspect there's something to that for some, but not for others.

True, but it's still the same franchise since it never folded. It just moved and was renamed. I actually wish the Winnipeg Jets came up with a new name when their new franchise began again to avoid even more confusion.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 Correa out 6-8 weeks with a torn ligament in his thumb...
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 Good job they have Marwin Gonzalez in the form of his life and a 15.5 game division lead.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 Good job they have Marwin Gonzalez in the form of his life and a 15.5 game division lead. and former 6th overall pick, Colin Moran to call up - who's had a great year in AAA.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 Good job they have Marwin Gonzalez in the form of his life and a 15.5 game division lead. Gurriel to 3B, Bregman to SS, Marwin to 1B? They can all play all over the diamond.

There's no way the Arizona Coyotes should be using historical records and stats by Teammu Selanne and Dale Hawerchuk, while the current Winnipeg team uses historical stats from the old Thrasher teams.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 Per- JP. Morosi... JD. Martinez to the D-Backs, no word on return.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 Per- JP. Morosi... JD. Martinez to the D-Backs, no word on return. Wow! That would be a huge get for the D backs. Since their farm sucks i'm super curious as to what they give up.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 Wow! That would be a huge get for the D backs. Since their farm sucks i'm super curious as to what they give up. Hard to say, apparently it's 3 spects per Kenny Ken. Edit: Lugo, Alcantara and King lol... that's f*** all.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 Per- JP. Morosi... JD. Martinez to the D-Backs, no word on return. This is certainly unexpected.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 I could see Tomas + going the other way, hard to say. Three prospects.
King Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 It's Dawel Lugo (former Jays prospect), Jose King and Sergio Alcantara. Pretty weak return.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 The Dbacks don't have any prospects so I automatically love this trade for then. JDM is gonna beast in that park ROS.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 It's Dawel Lugo (former Jays prospect), Jose King and Sergio Alcantara. Pretty weak return. Indeed. I don't see why the tigers wouldn't wait. Surely they could have found a better package for one of the elite sluggers in the game.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 It's Dawel Lugo (former Jays prospect), Jose King and Sergio Alcantara. Pretty weak return. This is a steal for Arizona.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 This is a steal for Arizona. Yeah, they should've at least gotten Banda in the deal.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 This is a steal for Arizona. Seems like we haven't said that or anything remotely similar in a very long time.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 Seems like we haven't said that or anything remotely similar in a very long time. They had Dave Stewart as the GM....in fact, the last steal their franchise made was firing him.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 Yeah, they should've at least gotten Banda in the deal. Or Leyba... just very underwhelming for a bat like JD.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 Chris Sale is on pace for 300 Ks, which has only been done once in the last 15 years (by Kershaw). He's also currently ahead of Kershaw by 2.1 fWAR.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 I feel like we could have offered Det Goins, and it would have been a better return.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 LMAO Gomez. Turning them fly balls into home runs is a very special skill.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 So if that's the price of a rental the Jays are getting s*** all. Not even sure Bautista would get salary relief at this point.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 So if that's the price of a rental the Jays are getting s*** all. Not even sure Bautista would get salary relief at this point. Exactly what I thought, way to set a price Avila you stunned f***ing moron!
