lol Morosi on the Fan590 today said he didn't think JD would be get more than 3/75 in Free Agency in 2019 because of his age. I just about crashed my car on the highway listening to it.

I don't think he will get more than five years but three years is ridiculous. Trollosi being a troll as always.

As per Jon Heyman, so take it for what it's worth.

Heyman is a moron but at the end of the day, no one breaks more deals than he does. Given our current backup situation, seems like an obvious fit as well.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi told Meredith Marakovits that the team is concerned that Greg Bird (ankle, knee) may not be able to return this season.

Advice: Bird continues to feel soreness in his foot and ankle. He also fouled a ball off his right knee during a minor league rehab assignment earlier this month, as if the first baseman needed another issue. Bird has played in just 19 games this season. Chris Carter, who was outrighted to Triple-A, might see a call up soon, particularly given that recently called up first baseman Tyler Austin is dealing with hamstring bruising which could land him on the disabled list.

That doesn't seem that far off to me. I think 5/$125M is about the max he'll get. I can't see many teams willing to pay him past age 37 especially with all the leg injuries he's had.

I personally think we're going to see fewer and fewer teams willing to give out long term, high price deals to aging players - even superstars. Nobody wants the next Pujols.

We said that and then Prince Fielder happened.

I wonder if anyone will ever take on that Miguel Cabrera deal, he's still a good hitter but about to be making $30+ million a year with 6 years left paying him into age 40.

What? I thought that honour belonged to Rosenthal. He's seemingly on top of everything.

And I didn't mean to dismiss it entirely, just that the rumors should be taken with a grain of salt.

I like Montero as a fit in Toronto. He's a significant upgrade on Maile/trash.

And then EE happened.

Donaldson is clearly a much better player than Edwin.

I'd resign Donaldson to 5/150 in a heartbeat. These clowns are delusional if they think no team won't look at a 6+ War player and give him 200M

If he has another injury plagued season next year I doubt any team gives him 200M.

Hurt me in a couple leagues too, now with Travis likely done for the season, and God knows how long Bryant's out, there's my infield gone... :P

I don't think he gets $200M. He's going to be 33 when he signs that deal.

Smart Baseball: Dusty Baker continues to put Anthony Rendon (.402 wOBA) sixth in the batting order.

Who is hitting second today for the Nats? Ryan Raburn! Who has the last few weeks? Brian Goodwin! Both project for a wOBA around .300 and are replacement level talents.

I know Rendon should probably be hitting 2nd in that lineup but Goodwin is far from trash level and imo he's an above average hitter even with regression

Anthony Rendon is quietly 4th in ML amongst hitters with 3.3 WAR.

He's a f***ing stud. Dusty is brutal.

Treat is out indefinitely with a broken right wrist upon getting hit with a 96 MPH Pedro Strop fastball.

Sorry, Turner owners.
