P2F Old-Timey Member Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 Via MLBTR: 12:49pm: It sounds as if young arms will make up a significant part of the return, with Bob Nightengale of USA Today tweeting the package will include multiple pitchers and a position player. Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch adds some more detail, saying the Cards “offered a pitching prospect as the centerpiece of a deal” and that an outfielder will be among the players changing hands. Anyone care to take a stab at the return for Ozuna?

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 Blue Jays on Kinsler's no trade list.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 Bader, Hudson along with Alcantara?
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 Blue Jays on Kinsler's no trade list. Good news
Ray Verified Member Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 Bader, Hudson along with Alcantara? Grichuk, Alcantara plus Hudson would be my guess
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 I'll guess Alcantara, Sierra, Helsley, and Hicks.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 Alcantara, Grichuk, Junior Fernandez, and Dakota Hudson
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 Blue Jays on Kinsler's no trade list. Pretty sure he blocked a trade to us like 3 or 4 years ago.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 Pretty sure he blocked a trade to us like 3 or 4 years ago. Yep. The Jays had agreed to a trade for Kinsler, and traded Sergio Santos for Brett Anderson, but both deals fell through. Considering Kinsler put up WAR's of 5.2, 4.1, 5.7, and 2.4 immediately after nixing a trade to the Jays, he can f*** off for all I care.

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 Why did MLB allow these Marlins owners to buy the franchise? Seems like they don't have the money to operate the team, let alone afford the payroll to field a decent team. Surely someone else would have been better.

Apparently Loria had put the franchise $400M in debt, so it was probably hard for MLB to even find a willing buyer.

I see well that makes more sense then. Surprised they were valued as high as they were then. EDIT: Doesn't Mark Cuban want an MLB team? Edited December 13, 2017 by Terminator
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 Joe Smith to Houston Dang, would have welcomed him back.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Kinsler to Angels I like the poor Angels, but they will suck again
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 I like the poor Angels, but they will suck again I think they look like the 2nd WC team to me right now.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 I like the poor Angels, but they will suck again I'm not sure that's true. It really depends on Ohtani health though. If he can give the Angels 160IP of 3.50 FIP ball I would be surprised if they did not grab one of the Wild Card sports.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 I think they look like the 2nd WC team to me right now. Only HOU, CLE and NYY and BOS look for sure better right now
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 Only HOU, CLE and NYY and BOS look for sure better right now Seattle and Jays better than Angels next season
glory Old-Timey Member Posted December 14, 2017 Posted December 14, 2017 I think they look like the 2nd WC team to me right now. Not sure about their rotation even with Ohtani, but yeah, they are probably the favorites in that crowded 2nd wild card race at this point. Still a ways to go in the off season though. If Ohtani isn't an ace, then they might have some problems. They have a ton of injury concerns in the rotation.

EDIT: Doesn't Mark Cuban want an MLB team? Just the Pirates IIRC. He owns the Mavs because he lives in Dallas but he went to school in Pittsburgh, and developed a fandom for that city's teams. I'm sure he'd jump at the opportunity to own the Steelers too. Pretty sure he also tried to buy the Penguins.
