Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/eric-thames-hasnt-been-awesome/ League has caught up to Thames. High heat...no more offspeed. Your turn to adjust Eric.
wk680 Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Scherzer was pitching a gem in Miami, no-hitter through 7 innings. It all fell apart in the 8th though, and now Washington is losing 2-1. Baseball is weird. Really bad. He loses the no-hitter in the 8th on an infield single that went off his glove and dribbled to the SS. Then Miami scores 2 UNEARNED runs in that inning to win the game 2-1. So Scherzer gets an L with 8 ip, 0 ER allowed! Oh and the 2 unearned runs were courtesy of an Adam Lind error (missed catch at 1B).
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Haha, Odubel Herrera runs round stop sign with 2 outs in 9th inning vs Cardinals. Thrown out at the plate and they end up losing in the 10th. Deadspin article link
MunenoriKawasakiMVP Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 This year's Collabello award right now definitly goes to Ben Gamel of the Mariners. ,354 average fueled by a ridiculous ,471 BABIP. He strikes out a ton, has no homerun power and can't field. How much will he be capable of keeping that magic tho? edit: And I was already scared (kinda) of his potential BABIP outburst last year http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/threads/6783-Explosion-GDT-(Game-3-3)-Toronto-Blue-Jays-Seattle-Mariners-(3-40-PM-ET)?p=1040135&highlight=gamel#post1040135
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 This article from Forbes that was published back in April provides some insight into the financials of the league, if anyone is interested. I wonder what the broadcasting deal with the Jays would be worth if Rogers didn't own the franchise. It would definitely provide a clearer picture as to what they should be spending. https://www.forbes.com/sites/mikeozanian/2017/04/11/baseball-team-values-2017/

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Just realized Ryan Goins with his wRC+ of 64 has more RBI than Buster Posey (wRC+ of 153).

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Steven Vogt will be DFA's by the A's. He would be a nice upgrade over Maile.
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Steven Vogt will be DFA's by the A's. He would be a nice upgrade over Maile. He would be a great add. Play him 2-3 times a week and he'll be one of the better backups in the game. He's also controllable for two years after this one.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Marwisnick's line for this year 318 PA, 55 runs, 23 HR's, 63 RBI with a .282/.371/.525

wk680 Verified Member Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 Just realized Ryan Goins with his wRC+ of 64 has more RBI than Buster Posey (wRC+ of 153). It's bizarre. Goins has wRC+ of 17 with bases empty (99 PA) and 169 with RISP (41 PA). His ISO is .044 with bases empty and .314 with RISP. This is the ultimate example of how SSS can produce some ridiculous stats.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 Gee to Twins . Feliz to Royals Let's nab Vogt
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 (edited) Although everything I see online says Vogt it a negative running game defender and framer Still a better option than Salty or Maille though I presume At the same time I presume the A's will expect something via trade for him Edited June 23, 2017 by G-Snarls
Ray Verified Member Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 Twins DFA'd lefty Mason Melotakis today. I would get on him stat if I was the front office. Good 95mph fastball with sink. Definitely worth a flyer considering our LOOGY situation is still a bit shaky.
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 Marlins close to dealing Hechavarria. Acquiring him to do Goins' job would be nice.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 If Donaldson and Travis are both out long term we're pretty f***ed Make trades that make sense beyond this year
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 23, 2017 Posted June 23, 2017 Who would have the best arm for 3B Goins Barney Hech Seems Donaldson likely to be out a while again I think Hech pretty easily IMO
