Yes, because of his unsustainable velocity increase. If he was shitballing as per usual, he'd be a net negative. Either he blows, or he's average and injured forever. Great asset.

Do that many people really like him? I feel like there's plenty of skepticism. Arizona was still dumb to deal him for Shelby Miller though. His trade value at the time was worth more than that.

If you told me Dansby would be traded for Miller straight up in my opinion it would be in the Diamondbacks favour. Miller was coming off of a career year in ATL and contrary to popular belief is not that bad. Average SP's don't just grow on trees yo! It was the inclusion of Blair and Inciarte that turned that trade into the lopsided mess people remember today.

Swanson was only drafted 2 years ago, so that seems a sensible approach.

Swanson may not develop into a franchise shortstop, but he alone was worth way more than Shelby Miller at the time.
