I guess not. I've read multiple things about how gross he is. Like, the Braves vets knew to never eat the chili.

What the f***. I would probably end up getting into a fight with him if I was on the team. Under no circumstances are pissing on people in the shower and putting gross things in the team food acceptable behavior. Any other job, you'd be fired and charged/arrested.

That's awesome. I loved this comment:

Bacon, I had a buddy I played ball with who went to high school with his daughter. He met Greg for the first time at pictures before a dance, and asked him for some baseball advice. Greg told him “Throwing a change-up is a lot like fingering a girl. You’ve gotta try a bunch of different grips and angles, but once you get it right, it’s lethal.” That’s a helluva piece of knowledge

Did you miss the part where he was a serial liar who would make things up just to get a rise out of people? I don't doubt he tainted the chili, but with pranksters - you never know.

Pissing on people in the shower has been a locker room antic since the dawn of time man. Don't get all SJW.

TIL that if you think pissing on someone is out of line you're a SJW

I wasn't going to reply to him, because I don't feel like arguing... But yeah what a stupid argument.

Yeah I don't think being opposed to being pissed on makes you a SJW, a bit silly. I don't know how I feel when I reflect on that Maddux stuff. On one hand, you have to admire his balls and creativity, but on the other, idk. I guess pissing on a guy in the shower isn't so bad as long as the victim takes it as a fun prank, but I kinda draw the line at jerking off into socks and s***ing on cakes and chili.

Playing hockey growing up pissing on someone in the shower was pretty common. Although that was like from age 12-17 not exactly the most mature of times.

Had a teammate who was mad that people were drinking all his water during practices. So he pissed in his water bottle and left it on the bench. Sure enough someone drank it about 20 minutes in. Threw his helmet off and went straight to the dressing room.

I get the impression from reading between the lines of the posted article and from some of the other post that the real prank was making people believe he had s*** in the chili. The potential health hazards from s***ing in someone's food would be through the roof. I have a hard time believing that he actually got away with that.

Sorry man, but you sound like you're the guy leading the petition to have initiation pranks banned from high school and university. Is the Jays tradition of having a rookie reliever carry around a pink knapsack all year bullying too? Noting the pranks are unacceptable behavior and comparing them to a real life job came off as SJW work to me.

boys + men on sports teams have been pranking each other since the dawn of time. If you don't like it, or think the guy crossed the line, you punch him in the face and move on - or you prank him back.

Depending on where the chili is from there may actually me more meat in his poop than the chili.

Isn't that exactly what I said in my post?

Brownie19 likes getting pee'd on!

I take offense to that BTS. That's unacceptable behavior. If you said that to me at work, you could be fired or charged/arrested for mocking my sexual fetishes.

The pink backpacks have been banned by the MLB. It's demeaning to women!

https://www.fanragsports.com/news/mlb-bans-offensive-rookie-hazing-including-dressing-women/

As a part of the new CBA signed by Major League Baseball (MLB) and the Major League Baseball Players Association, “offensive” hazing of rookies has been banned, including forcing players to dress up as women or female characters.

The culture of rookie hazing has permeated the major league locker room for decades, as both publicized and unpublicized incidents have taken place on teams across the country. The acts of forcing rookies to carry pink backpacks or wear dresses has appeared to have met its end as a new provision in the league’s CBA will now ban such acts.

I think you're a little out of line here. Nothing stangstag said was really wrong. Pissing on people and taking a dump in their food as a prank is gross. I realize that the "pissing on your mate in the shower" prank has been done since the beginning of time.

Taking a dump in someone's food without them knowing is like a million times worse than being pee'd on as you shower.

They still both involve bodily waste

Yeah but one is going in your mouth and the other one on your skin when your already in the shower and washes off right away.

I don't think anyones going to argue that s***ing in someones food is worse.. I thought it went without saying.

WTF is Brownie talking about? Not wanting to get pissed on is not being a SJW. It's probably even worse when it's Maddux and you know you can't do a damn thing about it.

Meh - I'm just a little sensitive to how sensitive people are. Pranks are inappropriate behavior. That's the fundamental premise behind a good prank. Society seems destine to outlaw everything because some small % of the population gets offended - and then expects someone else to police that activity.

To then go on about how you'd get fired or arrested if you did those things at work? c'mon. There's a laundry list of things which are perfectly normal and part of the locker room culture, which you obviously can't do at work (or outside the locker room).

We've banned all pink backpacks from MLB. What a f***ing joke. What if you actually like the colour pink (it was my wedding colour FWIW)? Like seriously, we ban pink backpacks from baseball - yet we allow religion to remain? Stupid.

FWIW - I do think s***ing in the chili is crossing the line. But you guys are assuming a lot. Nobody said he s*** in the chili, nor did they say anyone actually ate the chili. They said he s*** on a cake once (which is super gross, but obviously everyone sees the s*** and doesn't eat the cake) and thus someone assumed that might be what he did to the chili. For all we know, he told someone not to eat the chili with a smirk on his face and that blew up into an urban legend.

Baseball is a super long season. I'm all for guys having a little fun with each other throughout the year.
