BTS Community Moderator Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 Apparently between him and Trevor Williams I legit have no idea who Trevor Williams even is.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 I legit have no idea who Trevor Williams even is. Goes to show you how much the stock of Glasnow and Hutch have fallen... Edit - Williams posted a smooth 7.82 ERA last year. Trevor Williams was drafted in the second round by the Marlins in 2013, in one of the weirder trades in recent history. He was traded for Richard Mitchell, which seemed pretty uneven given Williams' proximity to the majors and his draft pedigree. It turns out that the trade was actually partially compensation for the Marlins added special assistant Jim Benedict to their front office from Pittsburgh.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 Torreyes likely starting for the Yanks this year? This doesn't seem wise. Well it's only a one month DL replacement and who else would you have had them use?
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 Well it's only a one month DL replacement and who else would you have had them use? What about Starlin and Refsnyder at 2B?
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 What about Starlin and Refsnyder at 2B? Refsnyder can't field for s***. The Yankess have pretty much given up on him.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 Refsnyder can't field for s***. The Yankess have pretty much given up on him. If I were mean-spirited, I'd pull up a bunch of old Boxy posts where I called Ref a utility player and he fought me tooth & nail.

Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 We're all wrong/dumb sometimes. I suspect Grant would disagree.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 We're all wrong/dumb sometimes. Pretty sure I'm on record as wanting to give Chone Figgions 80+ million and that I liked the Vernon Wells extension.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted March 29, 2017 Posted March 29, 2017 I suspect Grant would disagree. When I say "we're all" I'm only referring to the lowly common people.

I loved the idea of Figgins. I thought his plate discipline and great defense gave him a high floor even if his speed fell off a bit a few years into the deal.
King Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 Ichiro plans on playing forever (literally). What a badass. http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/mlb/miami-marlins/article141551584.html

And I was right until he went to KBO. We'll see this season what he'll bring to the table
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 Twins assign Park in the minors to have Robbie Grossman as their DH. Seems really stupid lol.
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 Matz won't throw for at least three weeks, which means he's probably out until at least late May.
JG34 Verified Member Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 Lugo, who was competing for the 5th SP position for the Mets is now competing for the last BP slot with Montero.
JG34 Verified Member Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 Heyman's power rankings. Has the Jays at 8th.
King Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 Twins assign Park in the minors to have Robbie Grossman as their DH. Seems really stupid lol. Twins gunna Twins. It's because Kennys Vargas has a foot injury that isn't serious enough to require a 10 day dl stint, and Park isn't on the 40.

Park still deserved to make the team with how good of a spring he had. Wonder if another team will trade for him.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 The Twins probably care more about developing Vargas for their future rather than accomodating a player that no other team wanted who had a hot ST.
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 Solution to their problems: tell Mauer that he's a catcher again. Vargas and Park split 1B/DH.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 Solution to their problems: tell Mauer that he's a catcher again. Vargas and Park split 1B/DH. I think he's had so many difficulties with concussions that it's basically 1B/DH or retirement. Catching isn't an option.
BTS Community Moderator Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 I think he's had so many difficulties with concussions that it's basically 1B/DH or retirement. Catching isn't an option. Ah, that makes sense. I didn't remember what his injuries were.

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 I thought it was chronic leg stuff? Either way Could be leg injuries on top of it but he blurred vision for two years after a concussion in 2013.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 Could be leg injuries on top of it but he blurred vision for two years after a concussion in 2013. Looks like concussions is the party line and chronic leg issues is the irresponsible speculation.
