Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 It's 1:05 and baseball is finally back!!! booooya
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Bryan Mitchell wasting no time retiring the side for the Yankees..
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 When does the Korean league start? I'll be in Seoul over March Break and would be cool to catch some games. http://bfy.tw/AI1A
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Unsurprisingly, Henry Owens still sucks..
Ray Verified Member Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Conforto is absolutely crushing it so far by the way.
King Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Is anyone else watching this Yankees/Phillies game? Aaron Judge just hit a rocket.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Yep he got a good piece of that one.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Yanks pitchers have a perfect game going so far.. for how long, we'll have to wait and see, as the regulars are now out and the minor-leaguers are in..
Ray Verified Member Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Nobody moved when Judge hit that. That was a mammoth shot. Also of note, Matt Holliday looking good as a Yank. I fear he's gonna be a pain for us the entire season. Granted, this is against the Phillies so take everything with a grain of salt.
King Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Going to be a long season for the Phillies
Ray Verified Member Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Phillies are in midseason form already.
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Going to be a long season for the Phillies They aren't that bad. Rotation is solid. Some interesting bats / close prospects. They might win 75+ games IMO. Now the PADRES... wow.

Sir - everything that happens in spring training needs to be taken with a grain of salt.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Sir - everything that happens in spring training needs to be taken with a grain of salt. Especially this early.

Now the PADRES... wow. I know that. Just the Yankees are throwing a perfect game against them through 6 (which just ended) and they are booting the ball around the field.
Ray Verified Member Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Gleyber Torres just f***ed up the perfect game. And the no-hitter is gone now too.
King Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Scott "Dustin Pedroia" Kingery into the game for the Phillies I think only Boxy is going to get this reference.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Another perfect game going at the Mets/Red Sox game..Lugo, Molina, Montero have shut the Sox down thru 5.2 innings so far..

Ray Verified Member Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Giants just hit a walk off home run against the Reds in their first Spring training game
bzapple Verified Member Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 This is a fun site. A guy who ran on the Rogers Center field detailing his experience. http://www.runningthefield.com/ Actually a pretty cool story. I wonder if anyone's bought the movie rights yet.

Ray Verified Member Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 Sir - everything that happens in spring training needs to be taken with a grain of salt. Unless the Jays go undefeated in Spring Training in which case the hype train on BJMB will be on full force
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 Tyler Thornburg sucks... even though it's early in the spring and one game, that trade with the Brewers is looking bad so far: 0.2 IP, 4H, 5ER, 1BB, 1K... about 30 pitches. Better be only working on something.. of course, need more info...

It's stupid to trade a controllable starting position player and a prospect for a non elite reliever, so the trade looks bad in that respect. This game has nothing to do with it.

This game has nothing to do with it. Especially when the Sox are very thin at 3B, a position Shaw was playing.. if Sandoval flames out, they're in big trouble. Devers is a year away.. and options in the system are lacking.
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 looks like Kevin Plawecki is already out forever:
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 Thornburg had more value than Osuna last year and is controlled until 2020. He was worth -0.3 WAR the year before and steamer projects him for 0.3 WAR this season. Relievers are volatile.
