Can you drop it with the Southern Ontario hate? It's really quite inappropriate and out of place.

Can the USA be added to that as well ?

Josh Thole signs a minors deal with the D-Backs... good riddance! Let's just pray Ianetta and Mathis don't get hurt.. or Arizona fans are going to hate watching Thole for extended periods not hitting.

Source: Dodgers, Rays deep into discussions on a deal that would send Logan Forsythe to Los Angeles. If medicals are good, deal will happen.

Dodgers and Rays have discussed Jose DeLeon as the main return for Logan Forsythe. Unclear if he is in the deal at this point.

This kinda feels like an ideal situation for Puig to be dealt.

Wow, very nice deal for the Rays. I wonder if they're now gonna move another starter for a position player?

I'd be kind of disappointed if I were a Dodgers fan and the return for Puig was only Forsythe, but then again the former's value might be nearly tanked at this point and the latter is a pretty solid player in his own right. Rays fans (I know, I know) should be ecstatic if they were getting Puig.

If you take Scarborough and Brampton out of the equation it's not too bad lol

Except you have Chatham/Kent and the f***ing Dutch reformists down by Niagara Falls.

I love it for the Rays, solid deal for both teams. Dodgers deal from their biggest strength, fill a hole in the process. De Leon's value just spiked in fantasy.

This isn't the first time I've heard about them, who are they exactly and what's up with them? All I know is that they're a church following or something right?

Wonder what the Rays have been offered for Archer. They are going to have to tear it down pretty soon, they've been stuck in mediocrity for a while now.

If they can get one or two MLB ready position players for a SP now, they could be dangerous short and longer term.

Archer

Cobb

Odorizzi

De Leon

Snell

That's a fantastic rotation, and could quietly be one of the best ones in baseball.

If they fill a hole or two on offense (which I indicated), they certainly could be.

Depends what you think of Mallex Smith. If he hits like he did in the minors, the Rays have a solution right there.

Enough depth to survive even a nightmare injury season too

I love everything about that rotation. Honeywell, Faria, Schultz and some other intriguing guys as depth as well.

They can also move Brad Miller to 2nd and promote Casey Gillaspie to take over 1st, which would probably help things a bit in the infield.

Yeah but the problem is outside Longo and KK the entire starting lineup are below average players. They have a couple of intriguing players that could return to stars like Duffy and Rasmus but for the most part the lineup is pretty bad.

They need to find stars more than fill holes I think. Really like the pitching staff though.

Well, if they're trading one of their good arms, I wouldn't expect them to get filler in return.

They'd need some things to go right, but it's not unreasonable to think that they could. Getting an MLB ready outfield prospect would help them a lot.

Could they be setting themselves up for the 7 starter 6 reliever rotation they have always wanted to try? With certain pitchers only seeing the batting order three times when they are really going good. Going from Snell's 95 from the left to Cobb's Knuckle curve and amazing change seems like it would be a great 8 innings.

They outscored the Jays in the second half last year and were 8th in wRC+ in the second half. And matched the Jays in runs scored on the road. This is very much a team that could be scary.

That rotation with De Leon can potentially be very scary.

And the lineup for the Rays looks pretty good.

LF Mallex Smith

CF Kevin Kiermaier

RF Colby Rasmus

3B Evan Longoria

SS Matt Duffy

2B Nick Franklin

1B Brad Miller

C Wilson Ramos

Granted, I like Mallex Smith and Matt Duffy more than most. Wouldn't be surprised if the Rays are in the wildcard race if everyone remains healthy.

I don't know. That's not that good of a lineup.

Their Pythagorean W-L record in 2016 was 77-85, and they've definitely gotten better in the offseason. I don't think its that big of a stretch to think they could contend.

And... with projections.

LF Mallex Smith .297 wOBA

CF Kevin Kiermaier .317 wOBA

RF Colby Rasmus .302 wOBA

3B Evan Longoria .332 wOBA

SS Matt Duffy .309 wOBA

2B Nick Franklin .302 wOBA

1B Brad Miller .328 wOBA

C Wilson Ramos .308 wOBA

Fangraphs has them at 82 wins. 21st ranked in runs scored (on par with the White Sox and Mets) and 9th ranked in runs against (on par with the Red Sox and Cardinals).

If everything breaks right they could have an above avg player at every position. With a good staff that's a semi competitive team. I'd take the over at 82 wins but probably not by much.
