ColdPint Verified Member Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Jesus its like the red six have an endless supply of prospects to trade. Well, they bought Moncada. Anyone could have had him really, all it cost was $. The Sox, Yankees, etc are always in a prospect rich position because they have ownership that spends heavily. And here we are salivating over Steve Pearce.

You leave Steve Pearce out of this you hear me?
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Red Sox seem to have stole Sale.
bronson44 Verified Member Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Playoffs are too stressful anyway. This is much better for our health.
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 2020-223 Dodgers vs Yanks Try back a little later Good thing the mlb playoffs are random.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 I can't wait for BJ Upton vs Chris Sale matchup, Shapiro is going to look like a genius.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Red Sox seem to have stole Sale. I agree between his bargain contract for 3 years and not getting the major league outfielder they coveted. Not enough in my opinion.
Ehjays Verified Member Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Good for them in acquiring him, That's why its important to build a deep farm system.
Governator Community Moderator Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 lol! That's over $33MM / yr...
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Sucks for the Yanks. They fell short $5m for the bid
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Sale and Price...not many have a better 1-2 punch than that amazing you can forget to include the AL Cy Young winner...
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Remember when we wanted a college pitcher and drafted Deck McGuire instead of Chris Sale. That was fun. McGuire just had that big body you couldn't ignore!

ChrisS Verified Member Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 lol! Am I missing something? I get that Its Chris Sale but 100 mill for 3 years.. how is he worth "way more"?
flafson Verified Member Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 That seems like a cheap price to pay for Sale. I get it that Moncada is highly regarded but Sale is out of this world. It's almost like trading Moncada for Donaldson, we would never do that.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Grant is probably very angry right now!
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 I agree between his bargain contract for 3 years and not getting the major league outfielder they coveted. Not enough in my opinion. Hey - they got an A-ball closer and a guy striking out 25% of the time in A-ball too!!! Are the White Sox targeting players who strike out too much? bunch of f***ing f***s.
Governator Community Moderator Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Am I missing something? I get that Its Chris Sale but 100 mill for 3 years.. how is he worth "way more"? Nope you're not missing anything. I was just highlighting stupidity.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Am I missing something? I get that Its Chris Sale but 100 mill for 3 years.. how is he worth "way more"? 1 WAR = $9M 5 x 3 x $9m = $135M Although I doubt Heyman knows that
glory Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Moncada better turn into a f***ing star.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Shapiro should focus on getting us moved to the AL Central
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Fortunately, they still only have one ace in the playoffs.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 improves the Red Sox, but I don't see how it is some death blow to anyone else competing. Bring it Sox! (sucks tho, I like Sale, now I can't )
ChrisS Verified Member Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 1 WAR = $9M 5 x 3 x $9m = $135M Although I doubt Heyman knows that Yeah but it doesnt work like that though. Mike Trout is the best player in the world but I wouldnt say he is worth 9x9x3= 243 mill over 3 seasons.
Ray Verified Member Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 That's an insane price during the trading deadline. If I were the White Sox, I really would've pressed more for Benintendi or Devers instead of those other two prospects.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 This is only going to fuel up the casuals claiming Rogers is cheap because we didn't back up the brinks truck for Jose and EE.....instead settling for Steve Pearce - whoever he is. I'm going to go climb into a cave for the next 6 months. See ya guys.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 improves the Red Sox, but I don't see how it is some death blow to anyone else competing. Bring it Sox! (sucks tho, I like Sale, now I can't ) I must learn to see the world as you do. Come, give me your eyes.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Yeah but it doesnt work like that though. Mike Trout is the best player in the world but I wouldnt say he is worth 9x9x3= 243 mill over 3 seasons. That's exactly how it works. That's what Trout is worth. He's good.
