Pagan would be ok on a cheap 1 year deal. Other than 2015 when he was hurt, he's always been solid.

I am relieved we didn't sign Reddick. Trading for Markakis makes decent sense - $11 million a year for 2 years costs middling prospects. 2 years I can take. Markakis defense numbers mediocre but apparently in the running for GG - so someone sees something in his D - as good as Reddick offensively - sorta. Braves don't need him - would like to salary dump him I'm sure. Fowler a no - Shapkins won't give up drat pick.

I honestly would only do this if they ate half his salary. The guy flirts with replacement level

Yeah I don't see the Jays giving up a pick and overpaying for Fowler.

 

I'm guessing Bruce, Pearce/Rodriguez to platoon with Smoak, and then maybe another small trade for a OF we haven't considered.

Trade for Miguel Cabrera (Dinger is #1)

 

1) The Tigers are rebuilding and looking to shed payroll.

2) Cabrera is making $30M per season til age 40 and therefore can probably be had for pretty much just his contract.

3) Time-value of money, or something. Inflation.

4) Miguel Cabrera is really good and I'm way into it.
