BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 What would it take to get Blackmon? Stroman? Pillar?
Governator Community Moderator Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 Who's left for Edwin? Indians? Mariners? Makes you wonder if we can circle back to him still.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 Who's left for Edwin? Indians? Mariners? Makes you wonder if we can circle back to him still. Forgot about the Mariners. Their order could have some combo of Cano-Cruz-Edwin-Seager if they get him. Segura and Valencia will be in there too.

Mariners unlikely with Vogelbach and Valencia manning 1B and limited financial flexibility, and I can't see Cleveland actually making a competitive bid..
RIPEXPOS Verified Member Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 f***ing love Blackmon. so does your mama
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 Who's left for Edwin? Indians? Mariners? Makes you wonder if we can circle back to him still. Baltimore seems like a good spot.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 Baltimore seems like a good spot. But do their fans like him? That is key.
Governator Community Moderator Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 Need a creative way to get rid of Smoak off this roster, like eat half his salary, trade him for some big chew and then sign Edwin.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 If Justin Smoak's four f***ing million is stopping them from giving EE 3/60 eat the salary and ship him to Tampa or somewhere that needs a first baseman. I don't want Bautista back and Edwin has proven he's capable of handling first.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 Need a creative way to get rid of Smoak off this roster, like eat half his salary, trade him for some big chew and then sign Edwin. Get out of my mind.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 Baltimore seems like a good spot. Not gonna happen. He doesn't play OF (a spot of need for the O's), and they don't have that kind of financial flexibility when they owe a ton of money in arb raises to Tillman, Machado, Britton, Brach, Schoop..
Governator Community Moderator Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 Get out of my mind. That was kind of trippy

L54 Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 Trade Him to Winterpeg Jets!!! Winterpeg Blue Bombers for all I care.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 Baltimore seems like a good spot. He does not strikeout enough for them.
Bobthe4th Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 Who's left for Edwin? Indians? Mariners? Makes you wonder if we can circle back to him still. Yankees
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 With the prices closers are getting, both trade and FA, I think we should seriously consider trading Osuna. Maybe we can fill an outfield spot with a high end, young MLB ready prospect, and then some. Sign Holland, Tolleson, etc for the pen.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 Yankees They're probably out after signing Holliday.

Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 Yeah but then your bullpen sucks and the team loses close games. Holland probably equals Osuna with some upside above that, and Tolleson is a pretty solid arm when he's not giving up a 25% HR/FB rate.

Trading away an extremely young (who already has experience), very good closer and using money to try and replace him isnt ideal.

Wouldn't trade him.when he's young cheap and good Notice most of the deals for back end relief pitchers are for guys making 8M plus per season and are at the end of their contract. That's why the Yankees traded Chapman and not Bettances for example.

Well if you're getting a young, high end, cost controlled outfielder, etc in return then it's just a different allocation of resources. One in which you take advantage of the market that's probably gone too far in the reliever direction.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 I want a Bettances or Miller

Thought I read the Rangers were hoping to bring Tolleson back on a minor league deal. We should offer him a major league deal mmm'k
