If the White Sox are in sell mode, would a package headlined by Alford + SRF get the ball rolling on an Eaton trade?

 

It really shouldn't, but who knows.

Seems Shapiro and Atkins are focusing more on free agents than trades? (or we hear about the free agent offers but not the unfinished trade proposals?)

 

They keep talking about how much money they have to spend

I think the time is right for Bautista!

 

Offer 2 year contract at 35 million or equal to 2 years at current qualifying offer amount.

 

Provide Bautista option to become free agent after first year so he can opt out but if he does not the Jays get an option 3rd year equal to qualifying offer or 1 million buyout clause.

 

To guaranteed value to Bautista is 36 million equal to 18 million a year for 2 years.

 

I wouldn't mind bring Joey back at all but he would never. That old man is stubborn ( i think )

 

Stroman plus prospects for Eaton and Quintana then sign Joey for a 2 year contract with a player opt in 2nd year

The Royals are likely to deal closer Wade Davis, and such a deal could happen quickly, ESPN’s Jerry Crasnick tweets. 2016 was Davis’ third straight dominant year in the Royals’ bullpen — he posted a 1.87 ERA, 9.8 K/9 and 3.3 BB/9 over 43 1/3 innings. He is eligible for free agency following next season.

2 year deal with Bautista please

We need OF bad. Despite his s***** defense he's projected for 3 WAR. If the AAV is right I'd easily give him a 2 year deal. I'd probably put him in LF.

Yeah he can't throw anymore. It was almost sad last season.

 

On the current team Steve Pearce should play LF, Bautista should start at 1B/DH, and they should still add a body for RF.

Really hope they sign Jose. He's the perfect leadoff hitter this team needs. Have Pearce play LF and Jose 1B.

 

I like your lineup idea but I wouldn't swap their defense like that. Bautista is bad, but Pearce is good at 1B (better than he is in the OF). I wouldn't mess with a good thing and just take the solid defense at 1B with Pearce and live with whatever Bautista gives us in LF.

If they are going to play Pearce in the field everyday, might as well forget about Fowler, try acquiring Eaton and use the Fowler money on EE. Im just not so sure Pearce in the OF and Jose/EE at 1st is optimal
