Spoiler alert... they aren't Even then, cost of living is only a very VERY small portion of what he makes. Most other more luxury things are roughly the same once the exchange rate is baked in, with some exceptions.

BTS Community Moderator Posted December 5, 2016 Author Posted December 5, 2016 With Benoit signing in Philly, we can close the book on the Revere trade: Washington gets -1.2 fWAR and -1.4 WPA from Revere before non-tendering him. Toronto gets 57 IP of 3.79/4.09/4.16 ERA/FIP/xFIP from Storen and Benoit (0.4 fWAR, 1.14 WPA, 1.0 RA-9 WAR) The trade actually worked out pretty well lol. The relievers provided like a win above replacement, and probably close to 2 wins above Revere.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Ben Nicholson-Smith @bnicholsonsmith 34s35 seconds ago Russell Martin "likely" to play infield for Team Canada at WBC per #BlueJays GM Ross Atkins. Mgr Ernie Whitt says that works well for him
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 He's Hell bent on playing shortstop in this thing for some reason
dineke Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 he moved like a cripple last year and now he's gonna play ss?
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Tulo better watch his back, Martin wants his Job! Lol
ChrisS Verified Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 The only way they could sign EE now is if Steve Pearce plays significant time in an OF corner and Morales can play significant time at 1B. This combined with EE having to play primarily at 1B could actually be worse than just signing Fowler. The former are worse defenders at those positions and all three are more likely to get injured. If Rogers is willing to pony up the cash and get both EE and Fowler (slim to none chance) that would be unreal. A nice medium might be to take a chance on Jose playing mostly in the outfield. His market is garbage right now, 3/45 if his ego has been squashed.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 We have heard nothing on Bautista so far, he still makes a lot of sense for us whether we can get Fowler or not.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 We have heard nothing on Bautista so far, he still makes a lot of sense for us whether we can get Fowler or not. Heck yes 1 year 17M for Bautista (plus an option year if possible) I'd be all over it
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Heck yes 1 year 17M for Bautista (plus an option year if possible) I'd be all over it Hell, give him 3/50 with an opt out after this year.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Shi Davidi @ShiDavidi Marco Estrada, Aaron Sanchez Roberto Osuna look set to pitch for Mexico at WBC, Marcus Stroman for US. Israel interested in Kevin Pillar
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Creativity = Sign Edwin 2Ys/40M Exactly. Creativity means that his market bottoms out to the point that it'd be stupid not to sign him and just figure out the defense afterward.

ChrisS Verified Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Heck yes 1 year 17M for Bautista (plus an option year if possible) I'd be all over it He gambled last season by not signing an extension. It wouldnt suprise me if a 5/100 was on the table one year ago. By agreeing to a one year deal he is taking a massive risk of having an average or worse season. The free agent class in the next couple of years are better, likely leading to less money for him. If I was him Id take 3/45 before Id take 1/17, maybe even 1/20.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 The WBC suxx It's fun in theory but pitcher fragility just casts huge doubt over the whole thing. I don't blame any player for skipping out on it.
ChrisS Verified Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Hell, give him 3/50 with an opt out after this year. At this point with the market and draft pick attached I wonder if he would accept 3/45 with an opt out.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Geezus for real? That makes me nervous. It'll be just like Spring Training. They'll make one start each, maybe two, where they'll just take it easy and that way they will be ready for the regular season. Osuna could conceivably pitch more as a reliever but I would hope that the Mexico manager has strict directions as to the usage of young starts like Osuna.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Gregor Chisholm Atkins mentioned possibility to platooning Pearce/Smoak at 1B. Also said it's possible Smoak could get regular ABs, Pearce in OF. #BlueJays
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Is Atkins trolling EE or does this FO really just like Justin Smoak that much for some reason?!?!
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Is Atkins trolling EE or does this FO really just like Justin Smoak that much for some reason?!?! That and the Jay Bruce Love is really really odd or f***ed up ain't it?

Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 The Mariners are open to trading Seth Smith. He's not the sexiest option, but projects for 1.2 WAR on a 7 million dollar salary. I don't mind him on the strong side of a platoon with Upton if we get a stronger option like Granderson in RF.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Smoak shouldn't be on this roster. We're trying to win a WS. Not only on the roster but trying to find ABs for him smh
