Fowler, Thames, Pearce, elite Reliever?

I'd totally give Thames a chance

What position did he play in Korea??

1st; and from what I understand, he was pretty good defensively as well.

Maybe he could give us 2-3 WAR

I'd go with Reddick over Fowler. Should cost half as much when you consider the pick as well. Reddick had a .386 OBP vs RHP last year and would be fine a top of the lineup in a platoon.

So Reddick instead to platoon with Pearce? Then, maybe we could make a run at Jansen/Chapman.

One guy who I think would be a nice acquisition and haven't heard his name once would be Matt Joyce. Could be a good platoon at 1st or DH and see a little time in the OF as well. He should barely cost anything too.

Yeah or platoon him with Upton. I'd sign Pearce anyway to play a little 1st/OF and DH

Pearce should be a definite sign. I love the idea of bringing in guys with low K rate/high contact/high OBP profiles.

It's another reason why I'd rather a Zeke/Pompey platoon in LF than seeing Upton get any major playing time.

Slotting in Thames to 1B/DH, Pearce to RF/1B, and Reddick into RF/DH would be fantastic and cheap imo.

Adding Jansen to our BP would be unbelievable as well.

Yup. People here have mentioned him

Trump, good for the Bluejays I'd suppose Shatkins have been fielding calls all morning from players agents looking to flee American soil !!! Lol

Go Jays Go!!!

Pearce still strikes out quite a bit unless you are talking about Reddick. Pompey over Upton would be pretty bad. Upton can't hit RHP but is still very good vs LHP.

I don't get this line of thinking. No Americans are going to come to the Blue Jays because of politics. They still will be Americans and live in the USA for half the playing season. A lot of players live in Florida in the offseason because of taxes anyway. Not to mention a ton of these players voted for Trump.

Even players on the Blue Jays now are Trump Supporters..

I'd also be open to play those roles for the money he's looking for.

I'd be willing to put on a cheerleader's outfit and dance around the dugout for that kind of money. The bonus is, after the first appearance they'd pay me double NOT to.

Pearce would be a great add. Can hit LHP, play multiple positions, and the Jays have Justin friggin Smoak as their only 1B option right now. No brainer. Sign the man up.

Why does sportsnet and whatever other Toronto news have to post 5 articles a day based on vague information about what might happen with Edwin and Bautista. Very annoying.

Last night: fruitful discussion, pushing hard to sign Edwin. This morning: Bautista has unfinished business in Toronto, doesn't want to leave. Just now: edwin probably leaving, here's 5 other guys they have thought about
