Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 The comparative and speculative posts are just f***ing sickening. Some of you people were clearly raised with no sense of respect or decency. RIP Jose
King Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 Well to be fair if Fernandez was driving the boat drunk then he would be responsible for the other 2 killed as well. This post, is truly asinine.
Lil Looper Verified Member Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 Life is a gift guys. Make it count everyday. Absolutely just terrible news considering he had a kid coming.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 They've got to retire his number, no? Hell I'd build a statue at the stadium too, it's going to be tough to find a better role model for kids on how to enjoy the game. I'd rename the park "Jose Fernandez Memorial Field"
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 They've got to retire his number, no? Hell I'd build a statue at the stadium too, it's going to be tough to find a better role model for kids on how to enjoy the game. Especially being in Miami. Jose Fernandez represented the spirit of a Cuban baseball player. From all the hardships he faced just to make it to the US, let alone to have the talent and work ethic necessary to become one of baseball's brightest young stars. Meanwhile he was always enjoying himself out there on the mound and on the bench among his teammates. This is a tragic loss to the sport, may he RIP.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 You're a sour fellow, my friend. Sour? I wasn't being sarcastic.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 It's not even f***ing fair to speculate on something like that right now. This is a tragedy and not time for theories or comparisons of loss. Awful just awful Yeah I shouldn't have said that. That came off the wrong way.
Dr Negative Verified Member Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 Horrible news. Hope he wins the Cy.

intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 This is still surreal to me. Young Jose both endured and accomplished much more than many of his peers, and all before his 25th year. This is one of the worst days in MLB history. A budding generational talent gone just like that.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted September 25, 2016 Posted September 25, 2016 Still remember back in 2013 and the amount of accomplishments he did in his rookie year, no one had seen anything like it in a long time, a kid jumping from a couple start in Hi-A and dominating in the show. I tried watching his starts much as I could, and near the end of 2013 he was on some serious hot streak where he was practically unhittable. Still can't believe it.
canadiansportsjunkie Verified Member Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 Enjoyed watching the videos ( again ) of him...always enjoy reading about a person who had all the reasons to give up but fought threw it all. When I first saw the photo of the accident...i thought for sure it wasn't real the damage is bad but not like most accidents I see...worst part is I assume they got hurt and the water finally got them...has to be one of the worst ways to go

They hit the jetty at max speed. That's terribad.
canadiansportsjunkie Verified Member Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 Majority of the boat seemed to be intact...not saying it wasn't crazy impact...just that they most likely got hurt and thrown out of the boat...injured and water took over. FYI just assuming...regardless it's incredibly sad just the thought of drowning and can't stop it is a scary f***ing thought

Dream up what you like, that's horrific, the boat landed cap-side on the other side of the jetty, in layman terms, bodies hit the rock and ended up in water?
