When they got Bautista at home, there was 1 out with EE at first place and Saunders batting. They could have just ended the inning with a super easy 3-6-3 DP. Even though Bautista got out it actually extended the inning giving JD an at bat with 2 on vs leading off next inning.

 

No going home was the right play. Both the 1B and C made miscues on the play. If Jose just hustled back, rather than sit there for a second and then try to dance home after the ball got away from Sanchez there was a pretty good chance he makes it back to third.
